  1. So you admit your vague characterization was wrong and then attempt to clutch at straws? It's okay to admit fault.
  2. The best you can do is commit a banal ad hominem and then rephrase what I already stated? Are you some kind of bot? Although it doesn't surprise me that JC detractors can't really fall back onto evidence in these kind of arguments, they find great solace in their delusions by the looks of it.
  3. I just look forward to the day when all of the anglo-american centrism we see in movie making fades away. Of course, the blind following of the inferior (although without question still successful), 'just focus on the west' model will hopefully end when people outside certain circles realize it isn't the be all and end all of cinema.
  4. You mean non-James Cameron sequels. Aliens and T2 both did better than the first movies. I think you'd do well to stop treating Jim as a regular director, and look at the actual evidence instead of making broad statements. If what he has done in the past were so easy it would have been repeated by now (by someone other than Jim himself of course).
  5. I'm merely making the point that people who doubt JC have a history of being out of touch with reality. Your point is of course redundant, with the USA not being a direct democracy, although I'm sure you already knew that.
  6. It depends who you are: Average Joe - 85% Fox Exec - 99% Jim - whatever he feels like, because he isn't beholden to either of the above.
  7. No use arguing with these people IronJim - they're the same people who thought Hillary had the Presidency in the bag.
  8. My association with Avatar and/or James Cameron has nothing to do with it. It's a common criticism of TFA - ad hominem attacks won't change the fact the story was a dumbed down version of ANH. The different is I don't deny that the storyline of Avatar was simple and derivative - that's something that had to be done with a movie that aims to change the cinemascape itself. It is ignorance and hubris of this kind that prevented TFA from even coming close to dethroning Jim. A real shame too, I guess we will just have to wait for Project 881 to knock Titanic into 3rd place.
  9. Great point, one I totally agree with. In fact, TFA and R1 have both, at least for my mind, lacked any of the creative force of the Lucas' era films.
  10. A ridiculous opinion backed up by zero evidence. Typical Jim doubter. I am sure you thought HRod was going to President too didn't you? The levels of delusion in this thread from those doubting Jim is really unbecoming of a forum that is supposed to be a focus of Box Office Theory. Yet it seems to me to be more of a club house for teenage SW fans.
  11. Production is well underway. It's as far removed from a traditional shoot as I have ever seen - even in comparison to the first time around. We've got the time of rendering down to half what it was in '08 with 4x the mtr. The planning that has gone into this saga makes Jim's entire career up to this point seem like a training exercise. As always. Stay strong folks and trust in Jim.
