This truly was the first horror movie that felt like a must see event movie. I mean not only did my theater have red balloons in the theater but on the road in the way to the theater plus there were numerous people in shirts from the miniseries. Felt like opening night for a CBM.

Without going into spoilers as a book fan I didn't mind changes as I could see certain aspects from the book's ending turning people off as well as not working on screen. Plus it kept me surprised.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion but I don't agree. There were a couple moments where I felt disturbed even if I wasn't scared (I really don't go to horror movies to be scared anyway).

Man did this exceed my already high expectations. This seriously is my new favorite horror film. It had everything. Horror, humor, and heart plus I really felt like I was watching an Event film something I can't say for any other horror film. Sure a little part of me could have went without some changes made from the book like Henry's death ? and keeping Victor and Belch out of the sewer but I also enjoyed that these changes helped keep me surprised by the way certain events played out. I'm already hyped for Part 2.

I've waited for this adaption for years and it's still hard to believe I'm finally getting to see it tomorrow night. With both current BO predictions and reviews, as a fan of the book I couldn't ask for more.

Being set in the 80's the previews gave me a Goonies meets ANOES vibe.

With these reviews I'm thinking it's staying in the low 80's maybe even 90's on RT. No matter what these reviews are adding to the already insane hype. Edit: Starting out with a 73 on Metacritic.

Probably not since it currently has an 85 on Critics Choice. I'd be shocked to see it under 70% on RT.
