Honestly just from the trailer I expected the movie to do something like that. However most of the GA expects the same generic stuff in their horror movies. When I went to see It Follows a couple of teens I knew were in the audience and after the movie we talked and they asked me if I thought it was as terrible and boring as they did.
I find something suspicious with Wahlberg's daughter not appearing in this one. I mean how bad is the movie that she can be in The Last Airbender but not this. Besides it's not like she's doing anything more of worth with her career.
Seems like I always have terrible options. Last year was ID:R. Pretty sure one year was Grown Ups. It's sad the best I can think of is Bad Teacher and even it was a meh comedy.
I actually seen a copy at my Walmart before This Is Us came out thinking who would pay to see a generic shark movie whose biggest star is Mandy Moore. Seems kinda funny now.
How long ago was it shot ? Because I'm pretty sure there were Walmart's selling it on DVD as In The Deep before they decided to put it in theaters. Something about going from VOD/ Straight to DVD to now 3500 theaters is mind boggling to me.
My theater is promoting it like it's some huge blockbuster. There's a standee in the lobby and a huge one in the hallway. I didn't even know people cared enough for there to be standees. Guess they're going for that Mandy Moore This Is Us money.
I personally see it around Suicide Squad and Deadpool's 3 day OW. If Ragnarok is good I think it being a Marvel movie, BHM, and being the final film before Infinity War will play in its favor.
The director of Beauty and the Beast who also did a film about the original Frankenstein's director. As well as the possibility of reuniting with Watson who I feel would be perfect for the role.
