  1. Hoping WB releases the 24-hour views officially, seems very big across all social media. Even on YouTube, despite the restriction age, it’s probably finishing with +10M views on first day.
  2. 383k now, but at least here the trailer have a restriction age, so maybe that’s hurting it. Seems very big on Twitter and TikTok tho, huge hype
  3. From what i read, really comedy, not just elements. Let’s see how it turns out, I agreed that Edge Of Tomorrow is very funny. I think it can be a good combo of genres if done right.
  4. We really should move on from Sneider, he doesn’t know shit. He was spreading misinformation about Sydney Sweeney like a week ago. Yeah everyone loved the footage they watched, but Sneider who didn’t see it is the actual reliable source? Dude hates Bong, he spend months of his life attacking Parasite during it’s award season and historical Oscar wins. That’s why he’s constantly attacking this movie. Maybe the movie is indeed bad? Maybe it is, that’s not my point, but there’s no actual reliable info about quality issues, Sneider isn’t a good guy, and good movies can be released in January. Just see M3GAN last year and it’s 94% score in the first week of January.
  5. Trailer reception from the people who watched was excellent, even more excited than Joker
  6. Great trailer, really impressive technical aspects (so good seeing a blockbuster with great lightning) Reception online seems amazing Yeah this is opening big
  7. From what i read the movie looks very weird, bizarre and it’s more of a comedy scifi than a serious dramatic movie Maybe that’s why they put it January
  8. I didn’t even watch the movie yet but i’m already glad it exists just because after decades of Hollywood portraying foreign politics (and cultures) in the most insane ways and audiences applauding because “it’s just a movie”, now i’m seeing very clearly a movie depicting US politics as a distopian fantasy to make a general point and people are crying that it’s not historically realistic Very funny how being a movie is not an excuse when the fantastical narrative is about you haha Sadly it releases here in Brazil only next weekend so i have to wait, but i think i liked all Garland movies so far, especially Annihilation
  9. OMG this is the most hilarious 20 minutes i had this week, she doesn’t have any skills to deal with movies i love her
  10. Yeah, but even with 200M it would have to do sub 600M to be considered a fail, i really don’t see this If it’s divisive among audiences i think 750-800M with a very big OW is the more probable scenario. If it’s well received, 1B
  11. Nah, the THR article yesterday had head executives saying the movie is awful, quality-wise
  12. I really have no idea why so many people expect this to fail lol I mean sure, to make a billion again it needs great reception, maybe it won’t get that for many reasons including the musical aspect, let’s see. I can see a drop for sure. But the hype clearly exists, it will open very big, likely way bigger than the first one, which is enough to prevail a failure even if the reception isn’t as good as the first movie
  13. I don’t trust studio executives to tell me if a movie is good or not If it’s on Cannes in competition it probably have strong artistic value, even if it’s divisive Now Coppola have to pray he actually won, it would make it easier for him to sell the distribution rights
  14. No, nobody cared that much and honestly it seems like noise, it didn´t materialize to anything concrete other than online accusation
  15. Very sad about First Omen Saw yesterday, it’s the best studio horror of the decade along with Malignant. Absolutely insane acting and directing, not even the clear forced connections and the plot being obvious hurt it, incredible commentary about current social anxieties as well without being just another “A24 trauma” type movie. They should market this better, let the good reviews drop sooner … even tho it’s not a very crowd pleaser type of horror movie, it could’ve opened bigger.
  16. I mean this is a 9M budget movie that break the record for it’s studio and will finish and ~18M DOM only. It’s a clear win imo
  17. I would be really shocking if it misses 100M with a 77M 5-day I’m hoping for 115-120M
  18. Reviews SAT indeed, they msut be confident
  19. Very solid reviews for The First Omen [83% / 7.3 average], hard to know why they hide it. Hopefully they can push walkups and save it a bit, sales seems very uneven.
  20. 83% on RT with 34 reviews [7.3 averave] 64 on MC with 17 reviews Both very solid for a franchise horror movie, especially a prequel. They really should´ve dropped these 2 days ago, sales are very bad. Now hopefully walkups can surprise.
  21. Premiering this Saturday on Overlook Film Festival with Radio Silence Q&A after Usually there´s no embargo in festivals so probably some reviews will start to drop this weekend
  22. It can actually have a shot at 28M USD THU? This is insane What 5-day opening can we expect at this point? 80M? WOM seems strong
