http://www.quartetrecords.com/a-monster-calls.html Previews of Velazquez's score for "A Monster Calls". That main theme sounds fantastic. I didn't read the track titles... anyone who's already read the book or don't care about spoilers can tell me if the tracks titles are spoilerish? EDIT: I've read them, and... no spoilers.

Jurassic World was a good film and a superb fun flick (rarely had such great fun like with Jurassic World at the theater), and surely the best sequel to Jurassic Park. Of course it's MILES away from Jurassic Park, but at least it tries to homage it while not relying only on that, with enough courage to take new paths and new themes, and while it has flaws, those don't manage to make the film a bad film, at all. I actually cared about (some of) the characters. For example, that's why I I cared even about some dinosaurs "characters". The action was well directed, the actors did good performances, there was some interesting character arc, the humour was hilarious and original at times, the music was gorgeous and overall the experience was incredibly fun, and it still is. No wonder why this film got $1.6B in the world. So yeah, I'm super excited for Jurassic World 2, especially because it's being written by the flawed but JP-lover Trevorrow and directed by that great talent of Bayona. From JW2 I would like to see more tension/suspense, more scientific-focused dialogues (like the one in JW between Dr Wu and Masrani, or the many in JP), new dinosaurs but NO more hybrids (although I loved the Indominus Rex, but that's enough for the JP saga)

"Jurassic World" script wasn't even that bad. Maybe it's because I recently watched "Independence Day Resurgence" and... I mean, THAT is an awful script. Trevorrow wrote a very flawed and at times cheesy but overall effective script, which especially had a lot of really cool scenes. Considering Bayona could have a say for the script too, I guess we might get a better movie than Jurassic World (that I loved, with all its flaws). On the directing side, Trevorrow did the job well with Jurassic World, but Bayona will definitely do much better. A Monster Calls will show once again how talented director Bayona is

http://www.cinemablend.com/news/1554639/a-monster-calls-is-the-years-best-movie?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter A Monster Calls has been called (no pun intended) "A masterpiece", "Best movie of the year", and Bayona has been called "The next Spielberg" (last time it happened with Shyamalan). ....I think Shyamalan really was (and maybe still is) the next Spielberg, except for 3 awful films. But Spielberg did really bad films too, so... I write this very little so you won't start killing me lol

The CGI so far looks good. In that particular shot it looks very good. If you look for "horrendous CGI", there are many other films to look at. There are only a very few shots in the trailers that looked a bit fake, but not distractingly bad, IMO.

I don't think so.

Pete's Dragon is getting mostly positive reviews. On Rotten Tomatoes there are 4 listed, all fresh https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/petes_dragon_2016/

Already from the trailer, we're miles away from the awful "After Earth", "The Last Airbender" or "The Happening". This could be very good. I predict at "The Visit" level, but I hope even better. I doubt Shyamalan will get back to the level of his first masterpieces, but who knows. McAvoy seems amazing anyway.
