Yep! Once Wonder Woman hits ~$365 million it will be the leggiest live action comic book film of the 21st century, beating out Guardians of the Galaxy's 3.53 multiplier from 2014, which itself beat Spider-Man's 3.52 multiplier from 12 years earlier in 2002. Once Wonder Woman hits ~$369 million, it will be the leggiest $40+ million opening comic book film since Batman in 1989. (This is among Friday openers only, obviously -- those few dratted weekday openers aren't comparable, unfortunately.)
If Wonder Woman can hit $391 million (or higher) for its total domestic gross, it will have the 6th best multiplier of ANY film that opened to $70+ million (Friday openers only):
Best Multipliers Ever for $70+ Million Opening Films:
- Avatar (2009) — 77.0 million (9.73)
- Finding Nemo (2003) — 70.3 million (4.84)
- Zootopia (2016) — 75.1 million (4.55)
- Inside Out (2015) — 90.4 million (3.94)
- American Sniper (2015) — 89.3 million (3.92)
- Wonder Woman (2017) — 103.3 million (3.79+) — IF IT CAN HIT $391M
- Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) — 248.0 million (3.78)
- Toy Story 3 (2010) — 110.3 million (3.76)
- The Incredibles (2004) — 70.5 million (3.71)
- Finding Dory (2016) — 135.1 million (3.60)
Wonder Woman will have achieved this off a $100+ million opening weekend in the summer. Phenomenal stuff. Even if it falls short, it will still be in the top 10.
As can be seen, the list is dominated by animated films. Of the films with better multipliers than Wonder Woman (presuming it can hit $391M), three are animated films, one is Avatar (at #1 with its incredible juggernaut of a performance), and the other is American Sniper with its patriotic dominance.
Peace,
Mike
In fact, if it hits $391M, it will be the leggiest $100M+ OW movie of all-time (Friday openers only), edging out The Force Awakens

A bit random but I was browsing the-numbers.com and stumbled upon this
Record No 1. Movie Amount Top Live Action Domestic Titanic $658,672,302 Top Animation/Live Action Domestic Star Wars Ep. VII: The Force Awakens $936,662,225 If you go into the "Top Live Action Domestic" category, you'll find Jurassic World at #2
How the hell is Jurassic World a live action movie and TFA, The Avengers, and Rogue One aren't?!
I mean, if too much CGI was a factor, Jurassic World certainly doesn't qualify anymore than they do.
edit: In fact, lots of their records are just randomly retarded. Their #1 all-time R-rated worldwide grosser is... The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies. I guess they forgot that only the extended home-edition release is R-rated while the theatrical was PG-13

2017 has not been my year with women. Maybe that changes with Atomic Blonde and I get a gf shortly afterwards? Or maybe that's a letdown too and I stay single?

I'd probably stop short of calling it more impressive than TFA's multi, because I mean c'mon...that opened to 250m. Yes I know it was December not summer, and not as frontloaded of a genre as a CBM, but still...250m and a 3.8 multi. I'd easily rank it the second most impressive multi of the decade though.
Never said it was more impressive, just that it had a better multiplier than the most hyped up holiday movie, which is insane
I mean, look at my avatar

I mean we're talking about a 100m+ opening CBM that could finish with a 3.8-4x multi. Do you really not realize how mind mindbogglingly insane that is? As in it shouldn't even be possible in the early 00's let alone 2017. How do you expect people to react?
Also -- in the summer.
This summer comic book movie will most likely have a better multiplier than The Force Awakens --
A December movie
That was the most hyped up release of the decade.
That broke pretty much all records.
We're also in 2017, where comic book movies are having increasingly worse multipliers every year.
Just let that sink in.
Finishing with anything above $368M (3.57) means Wonder Woman will be the leggiest comic book movie since Batman in 1989
Anyone who's whining about why people are losing their shit is being a bit obnoxious here. This is, after all, a box office forum.

Can we please get another successful hit at the box office? Even them, I'm still sure everyone would be cumming over WW:
Next week: Wow, look at Wonder Woman's 37% drop! Such an amazing run. So fucking good. Yes. DM3 also opened to 100M and Baby Driver to 30M.
July 7: Incredible, Wonder Woman dropped 55% against a 120M opener! Truly a great hold with such weak competition in the marketplace.
July 14: Holy shit, Wonder Woman dropped 65% with the combined wide releases over 80M! I love Gal Gadot!
July 21: INSANITY! Wonder Woman has dropped 10%! There totally wasn't a fudge here with another WB movie! A true testament to a great film by Patty Jenkins.
July 28: Wonder Woman continues proving she's the only female action character with a 25% drop. Just STUNNING!

I could fill up this whole post with quotes of users here only yesterday saying 70% was already being too optimistic

Alright, still recovering from it all, but I gotta say, daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
I'm so glad I watched this movie (been putting it off for way too long) -- Instant classic
That's the best confusing movie I've ever seen for sure. And you know what? Everything makes sense, at least if you're willing to give it one. David Lynch's sense of imagery and symbolism is so powerful it transcends the need for plot, even though there's definitely a plot. And the latter is what I love about this movie: even though it's hella confusing (probably one of the most mindfuck movies out there?), 75% of the movie is actually quite straightforward to follow.
The other 25%, however, is where things get tricky.
Anyone going into this movie expecting to understand it all on first viewing kinda missed the point. David Lynch left nothing to waste (the look and feel of the dream world is so deceptively perfect!), every frame has a meaning, every character a raison d'être, and they all serve a higher purpose than just "advancing the plot".
I can't wait to watch this again. It has found its way into my most beloved movies ever after just 1 viewing. I wonder what more viewings will bring?
A+ One of the best movies I've ever seen

Considering summer weekdays are kicking in even more now and 3D/additional screens are starting to go away at a lot of theaters, that is probably the best case scenario.
I tried doing a "best case scenario" last week-end with Wonder Woman too
My scenario failed as soon as Friday numbers came in
Turns out there was an ever better case scenario I didn't prepare for
Wednesday Numbers : DM3:$7.99M | WW:$2.08M (Off %25 from last Wednesday) | TF5:$1.91M
