Thanks Baumer, enjoyed reading this, well done, great work!
Too many horror movies on that list for my tastes (especially since I don't believe more than like 2 of them really influenced cinema as a whole and not just the horror genre), but a very interesting list nonetheless, with many titles I am now curious about.
Let's just say, The Matrix at #1, I didn't see that coming
Also, NO LOTR?
Tele covered the main points

Any predictions for final gross? Is $125M possible?

Everything's so low because there are just so many movies out that nothing can break out. I was just looking forward to next summer 2017 and the current schedule is just as bad...
Week 1: Guardians of the Galaxy vol 2
Week 3: Baywatch / Annabelle 2 / Nut Job 2
Week 4: Pirates 5
Week 5: Wonder Woman / Bad Boys 3 / Captain Underpants
Week 6: The Mummy /
World War ZZ/AscendantWeek 7: Kingsman 2 / Cars 3
Week 8: Transformers 5
Week 9: Despicable Me 3 /
UnchartedWeek 10: Spider-Man
Week 11: Planet of the Apes
Week 12: Dunkirk
Week 13: Jumanji
Week 14: Alien Covenant
So everything is gonna disappoint next year too
Holy shit, next summer is pretty much guaranteed to be a disaster for a lot of movies.
No way they ALL make bank. Some will suffer. I'd say the safe bets for good $$$ are Spider-Man, GOTG2, and Transformers 5
Pirates it really depends how much Johnny Depp's recent downfall will hit it.

Casablanca resonated with me. I don't know why I don't know how but it did, and it's incredible.
It's all about the characters. All about them.
edit: And I usually dislike romance movies

Sorry, Rose McGowan, but I am calling you out on your BS.
I don't believe for a second that a nine-year old said, " Dad, why is that monster man committing violence against a woman?" Sorry. Nope. That sounds like something a thirtysomething woman would say (minus the "dad" part).
I am a woman and we all know that I can be quite SJW-ish sometimes, but that billboard is nothing...nothing. There are real atrocities being committed against real women, and there are more pressing matters pertaining women being excluded from movies and from the pop culture narrative.
Like LaBinoche said, if that had been Cyclops or Wolverine being strangled, nobody would bat an eye.
The trailers for the film had Apocalypse holding a screaming-in-pain Prof. X in his grip and slamming him against a wall.
Would that be considered casual violence against a man?
Gimme a break.
Seriously, this is some insane bullshit call that only the 21st century could make possible. Viva la globalización!
Also, lol @ the "CW being a cap 2 sequel vs avengers sequel" discussion... for the 5th straight week-end

And here is my message to you, @The Panda, for all the excitement this top 100 provided us, which I followed daily without fail --
And now, we look to a great future where ESB won and ...
No more top 100 to follow

#1 and 2 both aren't even in my top 100 (you can crucify me), but I'll definitely settle with this
FOTR is a goddamn masterpiece and it's high enough for me
I'm gonna say this though: I'm gonna give Raiders of the Lost Ark an additional chance to woe me by re-watching it soon. And it better damn do it

Sorry I'm not buying that people were all hyped up to go see Civil War in theaters and then a 480p leak came out and they watched it on their computer screen.
It was actually a 720p with great quality, but you do have a point there.

The CW writers said that Marvel was done recapping old movies in the new ones.
When have they ever done that anyway? I can't seem to recall any occurrences...

I just watched Pan's Labyrinth again.
Yep, definitely deserving of its #8 position on my top 100
God I love this movie. One of my favorite endings among all the movies I've watched.
To hear it barely missed the list breaks my heart, but... who knows. Maybe it'll show up on next year's list?

Pretty mad right now. I was planning on seeing X-men in 2D on saturday but my local theater pulled the showing just before we bought the tickets.
So now we're stuck with 3D. Ain't no 2D showing
I don't like 3D

I wonder how much the TC for The Darkness will drop.
That one's gone from my local theaters along with Mother's Day. Zootopia will be gone within the next week.
Random question but are you department4c from reddit? (specifically /r/boxoffice of course)
