The Box Office Mojo guy's report sort of annoys me. Instead of talking about how much bigger CW's opening day is than TWS or how it is bigger than every Marvel OD that isn't an Avengers film, he talks about how it's hopes of hitting $200 million this weekend are "dashed" with the $75M OD and not much more.

Like that should never have been a realistic benchmark you dope.

BOM has stopped being anything of worth except for numbers when Ray Subers stepped down.

  3. On the hot topic of Avengers vs Captain America title, I know that one of my friends who went to see Avengers wasn't interested in this, because he doesn't like Captain America, so he figured the movie was gonna be all from his perspective, and he's not interested in that.

He's not wrong. He doesn't mind him in ensemble movies, but a movie where he's leading? Nope.

Almost every major outlet was predicting around 200m OW though.

When's the last time these major outlets correctly predicted a huge movie's OW (100+?

Besides BvS, pretty much never. Deadpool? Under-predicted by 50%. TFA? December was deemed impossible to open anything above $150M until the last few days when reality just catch up. Jurassic World? Off by like 100M. AoU? Over-estimated by 50M

You're new here so I'm going to cut you some slack....but clearly you have no idea how paranoid and delusional we all are at this site.  We will all be sitting around the computer, hitting refresh for the next 8 hours.  Then we will pray to Asgard to let RTH grace us with his presence so that we can get some idea of what this films might be doing.  RTH will then tease us with dick jokes and orgy and cum references that might have something to do with box office.  Then when the numbers come out, there will meltdowns and gloating, some talk about a cold black bird called a crow and then we will do it all again tomorrow and Sunday.

Masturbation?  Beer?  Ain't no one got time for that.

And that, is why I keep visiting BOT :redcapes:

  6. As predicted, people are panicking all around, but let's not forget that this is a Captain America movie by name.

No matter how much the marketing wants you to believe otherwise, some people aren't showing up because they think it's exactly that, a Cap movie, not an Avengers movie.

Nearly doubling TWS' OW, this is a huge success no matter how you look at it.

I never understood why people under estimated this film. It is basically Avengers 3.

Like I said a few months ago, there are some people like me who went to see The Winter Soldier solely because Black Widow was in it.

Now I can't speak for everyone, but I know for sure that I am not the only one on this planet who had this thought process.

Now we have Civil War which has about 12 characters with respectable screen time that many people love...

No reason for this to make TWS numbers, simply because there are just too many people around the globe who will go see this movie because of that one character they like.

"The newbie" is a dude who apparently loves to spend his time trolling our threads. This isn't the first time he's been banned.

    What's your excuse, @FilmBuff?

Forgive me, my Lord, for I have sinned. I fell into the newbie's trap. I replied to him :(

Never again will I fall into such lowly behavior. It's the hype, my Lord, all this waiting for our savior @Rth, who bestows us with such excellent numbers on these days of prayers, is driving us mad!

We are not deserving of His posts.

The Day after Tomorrow is so random, they needed to switch the leads. Great idea for a huge disaster movie, our main character has to lock himself up in a room by a fire! Genius!  The stakes are soooo high

To be fair, the dad is also co-leading the movie. This is still a flaw though, you're right. I love the movie nonetheless
