Firstly I have to just say I hate this guys voice. I haven't watched more than 10 seconds yet but damn it's obnoxious. 2 minutes in... his voice... god make it stop. Kevin. The way this guy speaks hurts me to the core. If he says twentay TWENNNNNTAAAAAAY one more time i swear... did he just say trill-la-jaaaay???? OK I made it through it. Basically 3D isn't as popular as it was, 10 years is a long time so who knows!!, cultural impact meme and that the story got stretched to 4 films. Nothing new except thinking going from 3 to 4 films means the script is stretched thin. Also he said the Visual Effects won't be a factor? Biggest blunder of the video how has this guy got 100k views.

Avatar is always relevant on this site for making comparisons to, especially with black panther which some thought was going to beat Avatar's 760m domestic and when black panther did 5 weekend #1's in a row. Black Panther is relevant to Avatar which in itself is a testament to Black Panther's success. Are you talking about me? If so what's my agenda... please tell me -
A2 and A3 make within 10% of each other I think. TS1 Opening Weekend to TS3 total, now that's the sorta mutli we're going to see from Avatar to A2.

80% is the chance I'd give Avatar to make over $800m dom. My estimate is $850m DOM, $600-$1200m China (impossible to predict), OS - China $1700m. So that's $3150m-$3750m Basically everyone loves it and goes see's it multiple times and it's the light in everyone's bleak life for half a year.

I've looked at this before, the hobbit works too. Shrek was another good one I think. I found that prequel/sequels 1 year apart gross extremely closely to each other.

@tawasal TFA used 10+ years of hype from the last film (sound familar?) Age of Ultron was a poor film Batman Begins. Empire is a decent example of your point. Phantom Menace and Aotc were both poorly received With 11 years inflation Avatar 2 would outgross Avatar with that spiderman % drop

They were both fantastic movies which had stories/plots not suited for mega dollars. Pandora is proven.

2020 can't come sooner. Avatar 2 will be an incredible film which combines visual spectacle with a big hearted story. To me this is as likely as the sun coming up tomorrow morning, there's no way it isn't great. Jim's got the art of high budget blockbusters down to a science and this is his Manhattan project, expect your expectations to be nuked.
