I think the real question with Pixar sequels though is what would a Ratatouille, Wall-E, or Up 2 do? All absolutely immaculate reputation movies in their catalog, but I can’t fathom how sequels for any of them work. So it’s interesting.

there should not and will not be sequels to those movies.

Also I think it's a good thing that Incredibles as a franchise has not been over-exploited. There's a reason Incredibles 2 made over $600m dom

“Directed by Emmy winner Peter Hastings (The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants), Dog Man‘s plot is thrust into motion when a dog and a police officer are injured together on the job. A life-saving surgery thereafter changes the course of history when Dog Man is born. Half dog, half man, Dog Man is sworn to protect and serve — as long as he isn’t distracted by squirrels — as he doggedly pursues his arch-nemesis: the feline supervillain Petey the Cat. But the rivalry between Dog Man and Petey is upended by the arrival of an adorable kitten clone of Petey, Lil Petey, who changes the game for both of them.”

Yes! They’re keeping the child custody battle!

Oh wow. Glad to know some Animaniacs writers from the 90s get work today.

Roger Ebert's Review: "Meirelles began as a director of TV commercials, which gave him a command of technique--and, he says, trained him to work quickly, to size up a shot and get it, and move on. Working with the cinematographer Cesar Charlone, he uses quick-cutting and a mobile, hand-held camera to tell his story with the haste and detail it deserves. Sometimes those devices can create a film that is merely busy, but "City of God" feels like sight itself, as we look here and then there, with danger or opportunity everywhere."

Ebert was also kind of dramatic, imploring readers to expect Meirelles to become a great director of other feature films, which mostly did not happen.

Did you expect anything else though? I enjoyed it, but it’s a top 100 list out of hundreds of good options…

it only got ONE vote out of 41 lists. It could have easily not been voted for at all, which is pretty crazy for a Disney animated movie from the recent past. I also wonder if Lightyear got any votes...
