no lol.  Only if it's a popular film at a theater with reserved seating.

And of course the best way to watch any film is to walk straight up to the ticket taker and not have to reserve seats ahead of time.  First come first serve, bitch.  Not gonna deal with getting a subpar seat just because some people decided to buy their tickets like 5 years before the show starts

That's me. If I could buy tickets for SW9 today, I would. 😂

I said it last week and it also applies to WW but the biggest fear is some studio exec is going to just look at the numbers and not the why these films resonated with people.

That was WB's problem with trying to make Man of Steel "darker" because of the Nolan Batman movies. Other studios are guilty of trying to be "darker" as well.

I'm being conservative and guessing a 2.7x multiplier for a 550M DOM finish. That's average legs for a Marvel movie. 600M is very possible though. If next weekend is under a 55% drop then I'll definitely bump up my predictions.

Hivemind, I was typing up my post and doing the math while you were posting this, haha.

  4. I'm still on board with IW > BP unless BP has crazy legs. Time will tell.

Certainly on board for IW OW > BP OW no matter what.

If I went purely on history, this wouldn't go over 2.7x which is Marvel's average. Phase 3's average is 2.62

Now I understand that this isn't a normal situation we're in here. Until we have more data, I'm sticking with 2.7 and 540M DOM. I'm pessimistic, haha.

I honestly think Black Panther is going to around 620 million and beat Infinity War. Y'all really thing those 50 year old black folk who saw Black Panther are going to see Infinity War? My mom loved /Black Panther but no way on earth is she going to see Infinity War (she has nothing against marvel or superhero films but she won't understand it)  She's only seen GOTG 1 and Iron Man 1. And maybe Ant Man at my brother's birthday party.

Age doesn't really matter with these films. My mom is 56 and has seen every Marvel movie and loves them. Love Agents of Shield too. Loves the "hot guys" haha. She is crazy hyped for Infinity War. My grandma loves them too.

Here is her talking with a friend in a post she made about how awesome she thinks BP is.

oh so they disliked rose's character? to be honest I thought TLJ was poor because

    Spoiler

Finn, Po and rose were completely inconsequential to the plot and they didn't give Luke a good send off.

That's what I'm thinking the majority of people had a problem with. But did people really hate rose that much lol?

    I don't get this.

    Spoiler

He had the most badass send off of any character in my opinion. Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, Yoda, Vader, Han, all lackluster compared to Luke's.

He’s talking about Roman numeral usage.  Some people in the financial world will use MM as meaning 1000x1000 = 1 million as a clever way of saying 1 million.  It’s pretty silly, especially since it creates confusion, since in the UK some people will use MM to mean 1 billion (which is even odder, I guess they see it as 1 million times 1 million).

I've read that too, but the Roman numeral reasoning makes no sense because MM = 2000 in Roman numerals.

    Edit: 420th post hype
