Well, even if it doesn't beat Avatar WW, getting 1 billion domestic would be like beating Avatar anyway, since that was looking to do 1 billion in China. So even Avatar can't make the records anymore, he just has to follow them. Speaking of which, has anybody checked up on @IronJimbo? Is he okay?

So, me and @pepsa used the spreadsheet to roughly work out what we would expect throughout the day. Up until about 2:20 we were practically spot on, then we missed the 3:20 update by a tad. However, as he explained above, the evening has always been slower for walkups due to the sheer lack of seating. At the moment our formulas are indicating a 54% increase to 1615k, though me and him both think it could go a little higher. Needless to say, the single day record is well beyond gone by now. Yes! Thank you! Whether you're the only person in the theatre or it's packed, it's so easy (and morally good) to take it with you why wouldn't you? Some argue that there's people employed and it's "their job" to do that. It might be so, but they have plenty of other screens to clean and have other jobs to complete as well.

Funny thing, I genuinely considered tagging you every time I use the gif, but I thought: you wouldn't particularly want to visit the A2 thread you'd get annoyed everytime I tag you you'd probably never use the gif again However, I do have to admit that the gif is incredibly versatile.

Well of course. We know nothing about Avatar 2 really at the moment, so can't realistically put any estimate on hit, high or low.

Just FYI, while you're going for upper bounds, with $330m+ happening domestic and the holidays coming for China, your upper bounds are more like $900m domestic and $650m China. So just $1250m for the rest, which is scarily possible 😕 Personally don't mind either way if Avatar eventually get's taken down. Either way it's free advertising for Avatar 2 and gives JC a bigger target to aim for. $3B is out of the question though.
