  1. Lightyear is either doing decent at North Shore or really badly. It all depends on if this is a ticketing error or not, as the best comparison for it is Sonic 2 as I suspect similar demographics. One puts it at 7.81M/90M and the other 3.125M/36M. I’m splitting the difference and saying 65M give or take 5M. I would not be surprised at all if this underperformed.
  2. I’ve been feeling it could underperform for the past few months as hype seems to have died down for it. Reminded more of Lego Batman and Detective Pikachu in that the first trailer broke out only due to interest in the concept for memes/gifs/etc rather than genuine interest in seeing Lightyear, and add action heavy animation mostly being a hard sell sadly.
  3. Revenge Ex Infinite Studios Release Date: 5/23/Y9 Genre: Romantic Comedy Director: Will Gluck Rating: R Budget: $37m Theater Count: 3,925 Format: 2D Runtime: 108 minutes Cast: Zendaya as Emma Tom Holland as Jonah Jacob Elrodi as Kyler Molly Gordon as Bethany Leslie Grace as Trisssss Unknowns as Abigail and Tim
  4. Wow, if it sticks the landing it’ll be the first good MCU tv show. Really enjoyed this also it’s amazing that Kamala and her world is far more fleshed out than Peter Parker and his world in his first five MCU appearances. It’s basically like what if MCU Spider-Man if done with care.
  5. https://www.boxofficepro.com/long-range-box-office-forecast-marvel-studios-thor-love-and-thunder/ Seems about right but I’d go with a lower OW range like $140m-$195m.
  6. Tbf FK started previews at like 6-7, whereas Dominion started at 3 pm so I understand how it can be a bit more frontloaded.
  7. Cool they’re getting a movie but lol at choosing such a green director so Feige can ghost direct.
  8. In my hypothetical it’d be like: Soul - $105m/$325m TR - $60m/$270m Lightyear - $75m/$245m
  9. I think if Soul and Turning Red went theatrical in a pandemic less environment, both would’ve outgrossed Lightyear. Both had stronger reviews and it seems more and more likely Lightyear may be softer than expected.
  10. Seems like Venom to me without the cheese, will wait for a trailer before judgement but it’s not hitting for me.
  11. @cayommagazine Endless Animation has completed production on their 16th film, Matilda and The Night Children, set to debut theaters this summer, June 6th, Y9 from director Ashton Corbin (Twenty Somethings, untitled Pixar feature). More details on it as well as other Endless projects are expected tomorrow rather than the event supposed to be yesterday being postponed due to business matters. The film itself should be posted this coming weekend.
  12. Speaking of windows, The Bad Guys has a 70 day window with it going on Peacock July 1st. If the Peacock release is this late, which kind of indicates they want to see if it can do 100m, I still don’t get why it’s not getting Dominion double screening fudge over things like Ambulance and Firestarter that won’t get a milestone benefit.
  13. It seems Ambulance and Firestarter are getting the double screening with Dominion over Bad Guys which is odd considering one is much closer to a milestone.
  14. Don’t think it’s plus due to amount of content this fall especially because Disenchanted is Thanksgiving 2022.
  15. Looks good but hopefully it turns out good because I’m not a fan of BH6 or Raya. Me: I wish Disney does a black lead where they don’t turn into an animal or a marketing thing. The monkey paw uncurls, we get a black lead but is the secondary lead.
  16. I think Kamala is definitely more popular than Damian and Jessica Cruz but I think with those they round out the top 5. Even prior to the MCU effect about to take place. I think the list would be: Miles Morales Kamala Khan Jaime Reyes Jessica Cruz Damain Wayne If Static counted which he shouldn’t due to his 90s debut, I’d put him over Cruz.
