The Weeknd, Juice Wrld, Travis Scott, Future, Nicki Minaj, Janealle Monae and many more artists to write songs for the Static Shock soundtrack.
Disney can afford flops. I’d take an Alita or why I’m rooting for PikaPika (though in hindsight both are over a live action Lion King. I’d rather them them do what they’re doing with Dumbo, Cinderella and The Jungle Book (the latter two were real recieved) or the upcoming Mulan than rather rehash the same “hey it’s your favorite childhood movie in live action but it’s now okay for grownups”. That said, it’s okay to enjoy them or love them, everyone has different tastes and I respect that.
I am not denying it sells but eventually you run out of classics. Apart for Stitch and Little Mermaid, none of the future remakes have the potential and Frozen would have to wait a good 30 years.
Because Condon copy pasted a BATB script. Yes, the audience probably doesn’t know who Guy Ritchie but he has a style that tends to be divisive amongst critics, outside of Holmes.
I had an idea for a potentially a faith based filler.
A feel good pseudo-musical movie about the unlikely bond between a kind hearted black pastor trying to save his church and a young woman with talent. But idk.
I am still thinking $260M-$300M, the trailer was better and definitely more appealing to the GA and had more buzz but I still feel it’ll get lost in the Disney marketing shuffle, and family competition in the summer especially May-June is hefty, not to mention Richie’s track record.
Okay, got a decent chunk of Static Shock done, the first 30 minutes should be around 2.5K at the most and likely have a word count of 7K-10K.
To be honest, this is a project I’m very passionate about and hope it does well and more importantly y’all like it. Both Black Panther and Spider-Man: Into The Spider Verse were major inspirations.
Is it possible to get the first year with 10 films over $1B WW.
Endgame, The Lion King, IX, Frozen and Captain Marvel are locks.
Far From Home, Toy Story 4 and Detective Pikachu have good shots at $1B WW
Pets 2, Hobbs and Shaw and Aladdin could do it as well if everything goes right.
Opinion/question: Is opening Medusa on Valentines Day a good idea? On one hand it’s an animated family film and about body positivity and with some romance but I wonder if it’d be frontloaded. Should I move it back to late March?
Actually never mind My Peoples legged it from $53M OW to nearly $200M pre Valentines Day weekend despite the romance heavy plot.
