  1. So in terms of delay, in all likelihood barring an adrenaline push for Phoenix: Rebirth, I don’t know yet but I’d say there’s a 75% I might wait until next year. Midterms are going to make this week are hectic and I only have three days to write.
  2. To be fair, a good amount are joke predictions but I get it. Personally I think it’ll breakout but no tears will be shed if it does something like say $175M DOM/$400M-$500M WW, I just think breakout potential is high; it’s the first live action Pokémon movie, there’s a very notable buzz online and test screenings are apparently good, a PG family film allows it to breathe next to Endgame which will likely be a near 3 hour epic and be decent counter programming, and it definitely has a lot of OS potential.
  3. Captain Marvel was more or less what I expected, a fun Marvel flick where Larson nails it as the lead despite some problems. Also Goose is my spirit animal. One of my friend liked it, the other didn’t. Also Pikagang, I got the trailer with Captain Marvel, audiences response was muted for trailers including it but it and Frozen II got the most talk.
  4. Man, you and @Spagspiria are really trying to prepay your Expand Dongs this year.
  5. I meant as in the Alita Challenge this week. Some (not all) of the people who’ve been against CM due to “feminazi propaganda” even though I highly doubt Marvel would (again haven’t seen it yet) have used it to support it this weekend as a way to hide that they’re not trolling.
  6. Alita: Battle Angel is hands down one of the best action blockbusters in years, and it’s said to see it as a tool for the MRA as a scapegoat to use against Captain Marvel. That said, it’s nice that young girls have more strong heroines now to in someways look up to like Alita, Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel.
  7. Damn, Captain Marvel toke my Stan Lee tribute for Squirrel Girl.
  8. @cayommagazine Endless Animation greenlights Monkeys on Mumbai Yep, Endless Animation is reviving another ambitious animated project. Monkeys on Mumbai like the original cancelled project is a loose retelling of Ramayana from the point of view of monkeys. The story takes place when two monkey brothers accidentally unleash a demon king who kidnaps Bollywood’s most beloved star as the two team up with the star’s pet monkey as they not only attempt to save the star but to save the world as they embark on a perilous journey avoiding unimaginable demons, deadly assassins, treacherous climates and a sentient banana. Monkeys on Mumbai will be directed by Kevin Lima (Enchanted) and Pixar alumni Sanjay Patel (Sanjay’s Super Team) from a script by Patel and Adrian Molina (Coco). The songs will be written by A. R. Rahman (Slumdog Millionaire) and Stephen Schwartz (Wicked). Monkeys on Mumbai is using the same Worldmeander technique that combines traditional hand drawn animation and computer animation used for films such as the billion dollar juggernaut, Don’t Let The Pigeon Drive and the upcoming Medusa and The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl Monkeys on Mumbai will arrive in theaters Y6.
  9. I am starting to think it’s going to be a real tough fight for number 1 of year domestic and worldwide between Endgame and Lion King. This shows the damn power that Marvel has in the game. That said I’m not sure they’ll be reaching the heights/massive bumps post Endgame but barring Black Widow, I don’t see a MCU movie under $300M domestic or $700M WW.
