  1. The problem is a lot of people will sign up for HBO Max just to watch Wonder woman and cancel after that. It's just so expensive especially if you have Netflix and everything else that a lot of people are going to stick with what they already have. I can't imagine getting rid of Netflix it's a non-starter for my wife and there is literally no way I'm arguing over $15 a month.
  2. Wow 1 billion film to a loss jesus. What a weird strategy for, I guess HBOmax really is struggling big time
  3. Studios don't want to take the bullet. Theaters can go bankrupt. Close and consolidate. Serious concerns about phase 2 for this virus this winter. I don't see it happening.
  4. Avatar 2 will be the highest grossing movie in the world that year. Not gonna happen. Disney would take a massive loss
  5. Well suffice to say I think movie theaters are going to hurt for a long time, I'm talking 5 years and then some. No chance in hell of this hitting 3 billion but dear god be a huge successful. The world needs it. For the love of God stop delaying it
  6. Witcher was fucking badass. Can't wait for 2nd season. Reminded me of how I felt about GOT before it was ruined.
  7. Man of Steel was a B- movie that should have been an A. Shitty action scens, dads death and supes killing were batshits crazy awful choices.
  8. lols. August is a horrible month to do that. But nice! I hope it comes here soon
  9. I was teasing about the laptop. Lord knows I hope people are not spending $25 to watch on a computer. What a waste
  10. AMC would likely just declare bankruptcy and restructure. Lol at the US economy of you let all movie theaters tank.
  11. Piracy will jump roughly 1000% on America as well. Really stupid of Universal but not shocking. Personally I will never pay $30 to watch a movie at home with snacks and crap on my TV. Seems insane.
  12. When theaters are open and you can spend $27 to watch it on a laptop some will do that. Many will say fuck that I'd rather watch it on a big screen with popcorn and all
  13. How many films do you think will really only wait 17 days? I see this as a win for movie theaters and companies. Films that we expect to do great that bomb get out quickly and the theater makes space for films that don't suck. There are plenty of people that never want to go to the theater and plenty who hate watching movies on a tiny tv or laptop. Personally I'm in-between but there is a not shit chance in hell I would have watched end game on my laptop first or second or third. Same goes avatar 2 once it comes out in 10 years.
  14. Nah just less theaters. Needs to slim down. Too little on profit margin.
  15. Nah. They so fine. Arthouses with booze will always be supported by communities. I definitely support mine!
  16. Which will heavily reduce the number of online titles as it makes it harder for them to make money on the online only films. Universal gets to safe face saying they shortened the window. AMC gets to say no more direct only titles and we get a cut of PVOD. Nice tap dance there by those two.
  17. Avatar 2 is going to be HUGE in 2030. Maybe 3d without glasses by then!
  18. What's are expectation for 2020? Worst box office in 40 years?
  19. I could see that and we could see a lot of theaters close. Consolidate to maximize profit.
