    I don't blame fans of either as well. Fanatics have ruined it and I'd rather piss off both than please one.

    I mean you have to assume it would do awesome. It opened to a massive amount that based on the quality of the film should have had a multiplier of like 1.4 and instead it did better than every single film superhero film except Aquaman and Dr Strange with a 60% smaller opening. It was treated like quality of Black Panther in opening and legs in the US.

    Venom's opening and hold literally defy all logic. Aquaman makes perfect sense and is awesome. That movie was so good. I have aquaman above almost all marvel films imo of course. I'm assuming Wandering earth had a great multiplier after it's monster first week. Is it really that good? It looks awesome.

    I refuse. I love DC and Marvel, warts and all. I also love Avatar, once the sequel comes out my daughter will be old enough to experience the greatness of the first one and most likely the box office shattering second one.

    Some DC films suck big time, Marvel films are almost always good but too often generic/formulaic, Aquaman was awesome, and Captain Marvel was very good. I love all comic book films, I mean liked Venom despite that it was worse than Suicide Squad. I grade all of them on a big curve. Both sides have unreasonable fans that root for the failure of the other which is insanely dumb if you like to watch SH movies. I hope Captain Marvel does over a billion and I hope Shazam shatters all expectations just like Aquaman did.

    Holy crap it went up? Jeez. Yeah feeling like my 69 million certainly won't be an overreach. If anything perhaps it's underestimating. Still a 55% drop after a massive opening is so good. Awesome data Charlie thanks.

    Hmm wonder if China box office will go up with new trailers. I am typically pragmatic when it comes to movies and never see any more than once in theaters. I've seen at least 500+ and maybe 3 or 4 twice ever. However now that I can see it again on the 22nd and then immediately see End Game 4 days later I will do so.

    Nice. Sticking with my 69 million prediction. Seems within range. Curious to see if it gets a boost internationally or not.

    Pretrailer I was going with 63/64. I will say 69 million with a drop of 55%.

    More like many we're predicting under 800 million for Aquaman and it shattered expectations because it was awesome and because China frickin loved it.

    Exactly my point. Captain Marvel was shamed because it wasn't as good as Black Panther (Best of all marvel films imo). Shazam is lauded as charming because it's good and much better than the weak opening that people are predicting. Way different expectations. Hopefully it blows them out of the water and opens to like 90 million.
