  1. Nice! I would love to have seen the photo booth scenes in the movie, and the one where she finds his photos. But I guess it's easy enough for me to say that, I'm not the one who had to deal with pacing and time constraints. It'll be great to see those scenes, anyway.
  2. You may be right. I was just thinking about the size of the ensemble and the fact that he isn't Downey or Evans, but then again, he is at the forefront of the team the Avengers are going to meet for the first time. It would make sense for him to play a bigger part than the backseat Avengers.
  3. Yeah. I think this wraps in June though, while Infinity War and its sequel are supposed to shoot through December. Not to mention he's already done a couple of weeks for IW and probably doesn't have a whole lot of screen time in those movies. Still, it's a lot! Next summer will be a good time to be a Pratt fan.
  4. It was all the rage when it came out, but it doesn't seem to be as popular as If I Stay. I would also expect something along the lines of Paper Towns.
  5. This kinda reminds me of a book I'm reading right now, Bird Box, about something/one that, if a person sees it, sends them into a lethally violent rage. A mother and her children have to try to escape their home wearing blindfolds and all the while something follows them. It looks awesome, and I'm glad to see Riley Keough in it! She was outstanding in The Girlfriend Experience, I want to see more of her.
  6. That's what I thought when I heard about the book a couple of years ago. I heard a few people who read it say so too. I guess it could surprise but it's a pass for me as well, I think.
  7. Personally, I just don't consider the fact that it seems generic and derivative to be a problem. I'm sure it's not going to be anything groundbreaking and I may very well forget about it immediately afterward, but I still expect to enjoy it. It seems exciting. That's a pretty nice poster, too. Better than the "is this actually Passengers with a threesome" one, at least.
  8. The animatronic apatosaurus in JW was also amazing, that was one of my favorite parts of the movie. It's nice to know there will be more animatronics in this one. I'd like a bigger one too, but as long as they're as vivid as that, I'm happy.
  9. It's been years since I've seen it, but I do remember that The Orphanage scared the crap out of me. This obviously isn't going to be as scary as that, but I fully expect Bayona to deliver on the promise of suspense. Really looking forward to that.
  10. I think it's promising that they seem to be going for something pretty different this time around, especially considering the fact that it's supposed to be more suspenseful. Hopefully that'll draw some people in. But yeah, it's sure to decline now that the novelty's worn off.
  11. There's a pretty hefty sale on the Legion comic at Comixology right now: https://www.comixology.com/X-Men-Legion-Collections-Sale/page/13944?ref=c2l0ZS9pbmRleC9kZXNrdG9wL3NtYWxsQ2Fyb3VzZWw
  12. Oops, I thought the "four weeks after theatrical release" rule applied in this thread! Sorry! Will fix.
  13. For sure. And I think the idea that a character's bad deeds should always go punished in a story can be more than a little patronizing to the audience. It's not as if we can't be trusted to make our own judgment.
  14. I think so. It may have grown from an egregious, selfish act, but it was still the most intimate relationship Aurora had ever had. As I understand it, she had lived her life keeping people at arm's length, until Jim. She even spelled it out for us: when she was with him, for the first time in her life, she didn't feel alone. I'd say that's absolutely worth having. Giving it up would have been a big sacrifice, I think.
  15. Well, I think that would have run counter to the themes of the story, or at least the way I interpret it. One of the things that resonated so strongly with me was how these characters come to realize the value of relationships with other people, and how those even trump the importance of fulfilling your personal goals. I can see how a lot of people may not agree with me on that, but if I were to name the single most important thing in life, it wouldn't be my career goals, as important as they are to me. It would be love. Not necessarily romantic love, just love in general. The review I linked goes into way, way more detail, but that's the gist of it for me.
