  1. This movie's entire development/production history reads like a cruel joke. So many directors leaving, delayed so many times only for it to finally happen when the lead actor decides to go on a rampage. If any of the prior directors had stayed on, they wouldn't be dealing with this. They simply could recast Ezra between sequels. If Lord and Miller hadn't dumped this for Solo, we wouldn't have had the Solo fiasco at LF and the subsequent bomb either.
  2. This is probably just going to break even or make a few bucks... wild that last movie Marvel actually made a good chunk of change on theatrically was Avengers Endgame lol
  3. This specific person literally spoiled all of NOPE like in May so yes they're pretty legit.
  4. I'm not in any way blaming Natalie Portman for this but I do think every writer/director of this franchise has struggled to integrate Jane into the more wacky/cosmic side of Thor, which is the stuff ppl actually like about him. It seemed to work the best in the first Thor when he was on earth for much of it but even then you still had to surround her with wacky comic relief characters like Darcy and Stellan Skarsgaard. It says a lot that the only Thor film with universal critical acclaim is the one she's totally absent from and barely even gets mentioned. Thor/Loki/Valkyrie/Hulk was just a great combo and the actors had tons of chemistry in various combinations, which made the loose improvisational vibe work.
  5. This is not something that's been relevant for MCU movies in ages (with the exception of the covid era releases that have a slight asterisk). They've all been profitable theatrically since The Avengers (2012).
  6. Maybe they'll have Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton in like a Batman duo press tour. Keaton has credibility as an actor and Affleck is kind of back to being liked again after Bennifer 2.0 worked out.
  7. Depending on how much they spent on marketing on top of $250m production budget, that might not actually be break even or just barely.
  8. Most sequels do rely mostly on how the previous film was received, obviously legs would've been better if this movie was good, but you can still get away with a lot as long as people loved the previous one enough to at least be curious about the sequel.
  9. But he's a black character by origin in the comics. I think DC is trying to avoid the confusion of having like a black Superman who isn't Clark Kent while also trying to build to a Justice League.
  10. I really doubt he's too old, it just sounds like he's too demanding for WB. They most likely want someone who's going to be a team player and they don't have to pull teeth to sign on to more movies if the universe does well.
  11. Feige sounds like he's going to be busier than ever for Marvel so I don't think this will be any time soon either. It seems like he tried taking a step back in Phase 4 and look how that turned out. Patty's Rogue Squadron seems to be DOA. We haven't even heard much about Wonder Woman 3 and she already dropped Cleopatra so idk what's going on with her.
  12. He won't even be in the country at that time so there's no way his movie makes an appearance or gets any announcement I think.
  13. Is that any surprise? He wants the traditional Justice League cast so he can make Avengers money.
  14. I never expected this to be an event film. Just wanted it to be fun.. which it wasn't unfortunately.
  15. Also apparently Hercules is probably getting his own movie? Feel like Thor would have to show up in it but based on this and his quote about how he was surprised to see the "Thor will be back" tagline, it does seem like Waititi's done with the franchise.
  16. So weird cause this ended up feeling extremely standalone and less of a team-up than even Ragnarok which at least had Hulk. Maybe the guardians were meant to have larger roles, like a proper Asguardians of the Galaxy movie but that seems so far from what we got in the film where they just left after 5 minutes and were never heard of again.
