Having watched Avatar just 2 days ago, its CGI (without the 3D effect) isnt that special anymore. Infinity War for example had much better CGI. Though thats really not surprising, considering the film came out 9 years ago.

:hahaha:That moment when you realize that you are comparing 2009 movie with 2018 and still 2018 movie didn't even come close to 2009.

Many things changed since 2009 thanks to Jim he pushed tech to new level so in future directors don't have stuff their heads.

I finally, after nearly 10 years, saw Avatar for the first time ever.

Imagine seeing Avatar in 2009 when there was no breakthrough tech, No Force Awaken no Infinity war.

James Cameron did what other can't even imagine of and he's going to do the same thing again and again by pushing the technology to new level.

That doesn't mean he will keep doing it every single movie he makes.

You think Star Wars fatigue is a thing, wait until there are 4 Avatar movies in four years.  With Star Wars it hasn't even been the mainline episodes either and there's already fatigue!

I think Avatar 2 can still do very well, but each subsequent one, there will be drop off.

I'm afraid I have to agree that other movies will decrease.

Only if Avatar 2 makes 12B then I think there's slightest chance of others to decrease 100M to 200M WW from A2.

    :hahaha:

  4. Avengers: Endgame directors explain why Superman is "difficult" to get right

The Russos talk about adapting the Man of Steel for film

In an interview with Business Insider, Joe Russo said that the Man of Steel was "a very difficult character", adding: "You have to find an emotional flaw or weakness in the character in order to make them vulnerable."

Anthony expanded on this point, stating: "The more powerful a character is, the more difficult [it is] to deal with that character on a narrative level.

"As storytellers, and the way we explore characters, we always look for vulnerabilities in characters because that's where characters become interesting. They're superficially interesting in their strength, but they get much more depth when you find where they don't have that kind of strength.

"In general, the more powerful a character is, the more tricky that is."

I usually tend not to post a lot about a movie beyond the presales and OW (except if the movie is Infinity War or something 😜). To give a recent example, I dont think I posted a single time about AM2’s numbers beyond the OW. Pretty much the same for MI6.

I am just waiting right now for Bumblebee’s PS to start. TF franchise is huge in China and Bumblebee ‘s ratings are great as it is. It promises to be a big movie so following PS should be fun

You posted that twice by mistake

This is a thread in which we allow a fair bit of leeway. However, please don’t go off the deep-end with critic conspiracy theories. For the sake of your own sanity and that of other members.

And as always. Play nice and no personal attacks.

Will there be any thread in Which we can actually fight like MMA ?

Thats a very good hold for a SH movie in China. That would be a 52% drop which is slightly better than Venom.

The fact that it will face hardly any big competition is a factor in its hold but it will be a good hold regardless.

I missed seeing your posts about box office numbers in this thread.

  8. James Cameron Co-Founded School Offers Franchise Opportunities

Muse Global, a school in Calabasas co-founded by filmmaker James Cameron, his wife Suzy Amis Cameron and her sister Rebecca Amis, has entered the franchise market to expand its educational format in the U.S. and internationally.

Muse, which currently has two campuses at 1666 Las Virgenes Canyon Road and 4345 Las Virgenes Road, offers a “plant-based, sustainable learning program” that aims to teach children “self-efficacy and respect for one another and the planet.”

It features a 100 percent plant-based lunch program and special programs that focus on seed-to-table and world languages.

“Educators and prospective business owners around the world who invest in Muse have the opportunity to expand this innovative learning experience and make it available to children in their communities,” the company said in a statement.

The organization, formerly called Muse School, has changed its name to Muse Global with the launch of the franchising program.
