  1. If you read the article, that’s basically what it says. No one’s using their software, because everyone’s developing their own.
  2. In a plot twist worthy of M Night Shyamalan, it's actually gonna be late-stage capitalism that saves us from late-stage capitalism.
  3. Cause it was New Line? I assume that's why 2001 won't show up either.
  4. Based on What's Left**, I would guess the rest of the list is going to look like: **did a quick skim, one of these might've already showed up, not going back to check lol.
  5. EXCEPT: Long Hot Summer was 16:9 and they are not even using the 4:3. Like look at Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. It is like some cropped TikTok hell:
  6. I think Eric revealed it in reverse. The true Top 5 was: 1: East of Eden (1955) 2. White Heat (1949) 3. John Wick (2014) 4. Whatever Happened To Baby Jane (1962) 5. Rebel Without A Cause (1955)
  7. What in tarnation is going on with this TCM ratio. Is this your new tactic for killing the network, Zas? Driving the audience insane.
  8. Obviously not now, but yes. Kalo is doing a Best LGBTQIA list and accepting lists until August 18 I am doing the 30 Best of 1993, and thoses lists are due September 1 and I know Eric is going to do a Top 100 Disney movies for Disney 100, which will be accepting lists as soon as he opens it (which I think is next month or so)
  9. I personally love people getting heated about the rankings. People work hard on presenting these lists. It’s nice to see folks engaging and commenting. And obviously 99% is people being silly to be silly. That said, some of you really need to watch TCM for a little bit. Like seriously. Or if you don’t have cable, drop your Netflix and get the Criterion Channel for a month. Suits will still be there when you come back. 😘
  10. When I went to Leonard Maltin Panel at SDCC this year, he said he challenges any modern filmmaker to make a 2hr movie. Just… putting that out there
  11. The fact she had Jeremy Brett eating out of her hand and just didn’t tap that. Giiiiirl. I will say the one scene in that movie, which always gets me, is when they come back from the party. And he’s taking credit for all of her successes. The way Audrey Hepburn just kind of like shrinks her body and tries to become one with the wall is so gut-wrenching. Such a good piece of business. Gets me every time.
  12. And she wouldn’t have an Oscar for Mary Poppins Y’all. So, Thank You Jack Warner.
  13. Tbh, that was probably me. I left it off my list 🫣
  14. I need those Gen Z/Stranger Things kids to fuck everything up. C’mon, El. Ultimate D&D Boss to take down.
  15. If anyone has issues with The Mod Staff, you need to contact me immediately via PM
  16. @The GOAT Now we know how Hallmark writes their movies so fast.
  17. Dad and I not selling at 134 was such a mistake 🫤
  18. I just said to @Plain Old Tele last night exactly this: I feel like I get why WB and Disney are — cause they have so much debt from bad decisions that they are being asinine about saving money — but like … c’mon Viacom/CBS/Paramount, you don’t need any of this shit. your bread and butter is old people tv. You really gonna lose a whole year of network tv, cause Netflix wants to make everything a robot? Girl, please.
  19. lolololo @ this after our exchange in the weekend thread Oh this we can agree on. Fabulous movie.
  20. Honestly? Just got with your gut. There is no real right or wrong way to do it, and overthinking it tends to just be that… overthinking it. I know when I make my lists, I tend to power rank one or two of my favorites in the Top 3 or Top 5. Captain America: The Winter Solider is always going to be #1/Full Ten Points for the BOT Top 100 followed by Singin In The Rain at #2. After that I go based on a weird mix of “things I think the boards like, things I know my friends like, movies I think need more love/might be over looked, and actual order of my favorite movies” Like I said, just my gut.
