  1. Hey, The Fall is as good as Pan's Labyrinth by my meager standards, but I understand why some people may hate it. I was just trying to point out that Singh mastered the awesome sand dune shot before anyone else.
  2. If we're real, Aquaman borrowed from Uncharted 3, which also borrowed from Tarsem Singh's "The Fall". Either way, cool dudes walking across massive sand dunes makes for amazing cinematography.
  3. Best film of 2019 confirmed. I didn't have to finish the trailer. The minute I saw Dacascos giving Keanu that thousand yard stare after the clip with the ninja bikers handlin' katanas, I already reserved a slot.
  4. Interesting chamber piece concept that's probably been done better before in films like Cube, Fermat's Room, and even the relatively mediocre Exam.
  5. Rockwell, Adams, and Bale made it. Best Ensemble at SAG is damn near guaranteed, which gives Bale a decent edge for the Oscars. Cooper looks to be a close second. I don't know how all of this will translate to box office, though. It's still a sobering (yet comedic) indictment against a man most of us want to forget. Not exactly holiday fare for the family.
  6. Tom Hardy kills multiple people on the busy steep streets of San Francisco. The local PD has zero evidence to locate the individual responsible for this disturbance? So much so that he can chill on his steps at the ending of the film, and cannibalize a man with no fear of consequence. His character is suppose to be some sort of well known journalist. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? This film makes Judge Dredd look like a masterpiece.
  7. I don't like this movie, because it's terrible. The rest is just poor writing, acting, and technical inefficiency.
  8. Venom has more plot holes and logical inconsistencies than a Michael Bay film. In fact, The Rock is a better representation of San Francisco's geography and integrity than this massive pile of shit. Yours truly, a fellow native of SF.
  9. Manhattan has structural diversity. We're talking about building a massive structure that is clearly visible on the hills located to one of the most endearing bridges of the US. It sticks out like a poorly made CGI thumb (similar to the ending of this drivel). The digital and physical security is so bad that the main antagonist notices a young girl lost in HIS OWN BUILDING AFTER WORKING HOURS, AND ASKS "Are you lost?" OH, GOD! The script.
  10. This film is awful. It's incredibly bad. I don't want to list the astronomical level of plot holes, but that building harvesting the symbiote has the worst security and is strategically unsound. I mean, building an experimental top secret facility next to the golden gate bridge? Why not Alacatraz instead? Even then it makes ZERO SENSE. Fuck this movie.
  11. You are confusing Bush with Cheney. This film will enlighten your stance. Furthermore, Trump enables and emboldens the worst misogynistic racist society bubbling between the coasts. Don't tell me otherwise. It's evident.
  12. Agreed. It's also OK to separate Cheney from Bush as this docudrama will apparently pontificate across its runtime. Bush is clearly a bit of a dullard against the intelligent sociopath qualities of Cheney. I look forward to this film and Bale's performance.
  13. As an American, I think Trump is infinitely worse than Bush, but I can see the argument from foreigners otherwise. Not 100 percent, but I can see their argument. Hey, this is about Cheney. Bush is merely here by proxy. Trump fully supports tear gassing babies. Choose your stance wisely here. Hey, if you want to get intricate with the details. Don't blame America. Blame Texas. They want to be sovereign. What would we lose? Simple calculators?
  14. Bumblebee, Aquaman, and Poppins. Is anyone even aware this thing exists?
  15. It's as if Summit and LG thought Paul WS Anderson's Pompeii was a successful prototype for fantastical historical superhero nonsense. Who asked for this?
  16. I see your point. It is a very successful film, and he could receive the empathy factor (nominated 3 times with no win). He does have far more leverage in other technical nominations, though.
  17. What stands in his way? Surely, from the trailer alone, you can tell he was a prime front runner.
  18. Now, that's a trailer right there. Should've been the first and only.
  19. I saw the track list. A little disappointed Tessa Thompson only has one song this time. I was hoping they'd use more of her impressive vocal talents this time out. It was integral to the original film. Otherwise, the OST is loaded with top selling artists, so it should do better than the original in terms of sales.
  20. Aside from the robot servant and hazy porn like lighting of the first act, Rocky IV is a pretty damn entertaining piece of pulp sports entertainment. Hearts on Fire's montage is not to be meddled with either. That being said, Creed 2 SHOULD be better. Creed Jr. has a stronger impetus to make this fight happen than Rocky vs Drago Sr., which makes the audience more invested right out the gate.
  21. That's a NAVY beach resort. Either Point Loma or Coronado. All of this is happening within a mile of me, and I still haven't seen the Cruise. Dammit!
  22. Tom is just using it as an excuse to have longer access to military grade fighter jets (even though he won't be flying them in the film). *cough* BS *cough* PS: We all know Cruise will have an epic dogfight in this film.
  23. Man, this is going to bomb hard. I can't wait to see it in an empty theater. No, seriously. This will be like that time I saw Stir of Echoes and Dredd. Bad timing and little marketing. Almost no one in the theater, but I had a blast either way.
