Yeah it looks like likes will settle at a third of Hawkeye or something. Which, on the one hand, MCU does dumb online metrics etc. But no MCU show has challenged the got s8 1M likes despite 2+ years inflation. If they had nailed the landing it think this show could be like 5x bigger than it will be.

Soured on this universe now and don’t think the dance was an interesting choice of subject matter to begin with, but I am still curious about the commercial stats.

Well, not by me 😛 All quantitative metrics at this point suggest that this will be a bit bigger than SC in interest, but not massively. Covid conditions will also be a lot better, though many people aren't too responsive to them. Put that together and I thinking 100-125 or so. Advertising hasn't really started yet, maybe it+reviews click extremely well and it blows up to 150, marvel first entries have certainly done wilder stuff. But more common than BP/CM kind of openings is just hitting solid doubles with stuff like DS and SC.

She is a heavy hitter though. And that OW had a lot to do with endgame of course. Below 150 for sequels is disappointing to me but first entries have lower floor expectations.

Wouldn’t be surprised if this market has one of the lower increases from FFH however. The maguire experience didn’t really happen the same way.

Yeah obviously circumstances are quite unusual for sequel to 85M open. I think it will go 170+ and take March record, so I am not too far off. Bit even using CW and IM3 as comps the full +135% OW is a bit hard to stomach for now.

So far the lowest opening to have a direct sequel open over 200M is AoU’s 191M. Doctor strange going straight from 85 to 200+ is a bit too much even for my blood — though there is some hope if you embrace the Civil War comp. TWS opened in 30th (current: 135.6M) and CW jumped all the way to 5th (current: 208.8M). DS1 was 64th (current: 97.4M) and would need to get 8th if NWH tops it earlier.

I mean, I will just be boring and say Wakanda Forever. I guess the other spicy-delusional answers are like: Batman DS2 Thor JW3 CM2 A2 Unless I’m forgetting something. I guess Gotg3 or avengers 5 is also a possible answer depending on one’s mood.
