  1. Meeting reasonable expectations dead on I guess. Neither under nor over performance based on what we saw two weeks ago.... 😉 😉 😉
  2. Aside from trashing Halloween and throwing these “Labor Day bad datae”/“MCU frontloaded fan franchise now” theories out to the trash heap, that figure would probably make my club favored.
  3. Okay, one last useful (kinda) comment in before I’m unconscious. I’ve seen SC/FG, SC/JC, and SC/BW — but unsure on the ratios. @katnisscinnaplex might know more
  4. And with that, I should go to bed for the night. I can feel this discussion starting to veer into territory that I don’t think the mods want to see and probably a lot of other users don’t need to see. Cheers everybody — great weekend ahead of us
  5. I think in 2019 a lot of people hadn’t come to grips with the magnitude in a way that they probably will by late 2022. And of course, “going downhill” is totally subjective here. I love the funny book movies. I don’t really see much else in theaters. I’d gladly trade away the midrange and autuer hits to streaming for 10 MCUs a year or whatever.
  6. Some folks around here are gonna be absolute livid(/depressed) about what the post-pandemic record books look like in a year. But it will expose what the reality of the industry has been becoming since 2012/2008.
  7. Horror has a great ROI and have certainly been a key, well-performing and well-received component of keeping things struggling along in the past year. But it’s also pretty clear numerical that they don’t pull the sort of raw grosses that theaters need as business entities.
  8. I agree that it seems to be performing “normal for an MCU” but when I was researching for my club it seemed that Labor Day Sat bumps were only 90% strength of full school time Sat bumps, thanks to the last vestiges of summer. Mostly compared holdover Labor Sats to the 3 weeks after. So 120-135%-> maybe 108-121.5%. This wouldn’t be too apparent in the Th:Fri since they are either both full summer, or both full school, or (my hypothesis) both ~90% school, etc. Sun and Mon are harder to say but I am also expecting single digits with the reception for Sun.
  9. Pretty damn well Yes, but it’s gonna be quiet again until October. Full month where the most exciting thing will probably be Shang-chi legs. Nice to see you around pepsa , almost tagged you yesterday when the two towers great reception came up.
  10. Would be neat for SC 2nd weekend to make top 5 post-pandemic wknds. Afaik it should be: BW 80 SC ~70-75 F9 70 AQP2 47.5 JC 35 Will be funny if FG sets post-pandemic 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th etc wknd record and then loses them on a three week lag.
  11. It’s great having @EmpireCity providing some early info and Jat as a 2nd eye on interpretation, but it seems like this is big enough for @Rthtr so I’m still hoping for an appearance tonight
  12. They both have an overwhelming cornucopia of awesome moments. I loved the slower moments in Endgame’s 1st+2nd act and the 10 or so minutes with mjolnir +portals are probably the hypest moments in any movie for me. IW is so propulsive though. Thanos is a far stronger antagonist in it characterwise, the sacrifice motif is great, and the Battle on Titan is the best mcu battle sequence for me. Ultimately what pushes IW over for me is the total downer ending. So rare, so refreshing. What if spoilers:
  13. Yeah I think we have more than enough data now to call this a trend. For whatever reason it seems like Thursdays are more mtc loaded in this new environment, but Th:Fri multipliers are boosted.
  14. What does flopping even look like for The Card Counter? I was thinking sub 1M debut from the TC est.
