If you just look at MCU maoyan’s like 8.6-8.9 most of them are A CS! Did it become even more inflated in past 3 years? CM 8.7 A AM&tW 8.8 A- Ragnarok 8.9 A DS1 8.9 A CW 8.6 A AM1 8.9 A AoU 8.6 A TDW 8.7 A-

China hated BP1 though and BP2 is a massive flop there with horrible ratings on other sites iirc Because I said 4 of the last 5 Disney mcu? NWH is a special circumstance in a few ways

QM Thor DS2 Eternals Nobody said “most people hated it.” It’s just “a lot of people disliked it.” The same nums would be poor reception for other franchises as well.

Black panther was obviously received well. DS2 and Thor were not though DS2 has more fans and is probably going to go down as the best of the 4, more polarized than straight up bad.

Indeed. You will note that I did not say "4/5 weren't received as well as Endgame" (because that'd be a pretty useless observation) and instead said "4/5 were received poorly" (because 4/5 were received poorly).

Thanks for the recap @Grebacio. Kind of looks like flat B from that data. That'd be weird to me since the movie isn't *that* bad but not as weird as Eternals I guess

In a sense, anything that seems like a candidatd to be a Solo can't really be a Solo. The element of surprise isa key component of the experience 😅

Yeah I stand by length not mattering much for big day 1s but agree it can be a big factor for small day 1s like this. Clearly there is ~no urgent fan hype here but it’s a sort of movie that doesn’t necessarily need that to do okay so we’ll just have to be patient. -

The average rotten movie in multiverse saga is probably better than the average fresh movie at this point. At least very close.

The biggest problem with the multiverse/time travel stuff for me personally is that you tend to do stuff that doesn’t make any logical sense. But I think the bigger issue for the GA is it tends to sound like gobbledygook that they can’t even tell if it makes sense and destroy a real emotional connection to stakes
