Yeah this was fine. Not as good as Eternals but nowhere near as bad as ds2 and L&T This saga is fucked longer term though imo, it’s just a difficult (nearly impossible, shouldn’t have been attempted) concept and the writers they’ve been hiring aren’t up to the task

Really depends on the movie. Venom 3 will do just fine rotten. So will Jurassic Galaxy or whatever. With the MCU: there’s an expectation of good reception audience tend to agree with critics when there does turn out to be lower critic reception

Well, for one, it’s pretty unlikely to be the most successful Ant-man film. But beyond that the reception is the more important thing long term

Being a bit hyperbolic for comedy but one thing that I think is true is that it’s a little bit late for a pause — projects pretty deep into phase 5 are in production and phase 6 has surely had a lot of pre-production planning work done at this point. Once the serialized narrative connected universe train gets rolling it’s pretty hard to just stop and then warm up again. At this point mostly everything through secret wars is a write off to me (very interested to see the story execution, reception, and BO still, just setting personal expectations pretty low) with the hope that the projects being developed forward from here can lay the groundwork for a good 3rd saga.

We need a total and complete shutdown until we can figure out what the hell is going on.

I mean, it’s safe to say it will be received much better than BvS in most markets. Seems like France (or at least that particular French audience score) just didn’t hate BvS that much so it’s probably not a good comparison 😛

I was thinking of bumping them — the fact that it got Eternals reception and still isn’t going that low is a good demonstration of how it wasn’t on the table 😛

I mean, any kind of disagreement is saying that the other side is “‘wrong’ in so many words,” right? Even just positively asserting one’s own view implies that other conclusions are wrong! M37 has also used some language recently along the lines of “what I was expecting was smart/reasonable/correct base case, what other people were expecting was wrong.” I disagree on the merits, but beyond that I don’t really object to the framing — I’d certainly hope that people believe their own analysis is right, and it’s not like you can simultaneously believe that heading for 23 is right and heading for 20 is right and heading for 18 is right.

I mean, the BO technical term “limited” doesn’t apply but plain English “limited” sure does
