  1. I wonder how this movie will do at the worldwide box office. While I can’t imagine it’ll top the first one domestically, I’m curious to see if it can possibly pass BvS as the highest grossing DCEU film worldwide.
  2. I can’t help but feel like I’ve basically already seen this movie, except that it was called Upgrade. Then again, pretty much no one else has seen that movie, so the similarities aren’t likely to hurt this film.
  3. Harley Quinn is more DC’s Deadpool. For the record, I think Harley Quinn is a terrible character, whether we’re talking about the movies, the comics, or the animated series, but she’s probably the closest thing DC has to their own Deadpool at this point.
  4. I saw “women trying to accuse Tom Hanks” and immediately freaked out. Don’t scare me like that.
  5. We don’t know what they’re going to do at the moment. I don’t think Freeman deserves to go the way of Kevin Spacey, though.
  6. You mean for oogling people? There’d be a lot of arrests if that were to be the case.
  7. I remember hearing that rumor as far back as 2015, but it always did, and still does, sound like a really stupid direction to go in.
  8. I can’t be the only one who hopes Steve Trevor doesn’t come back to life, right? That would really cheapen his sacrifice in the previous movie. Then again, the dialogue in JL implied that he’s still dead, so if he does come back to life here, would that mean that he’d just die again?
  9. It’s crazy that we officially live in a world where Morgan Freeman is a toxic name. Should we just assume from this point on that every famous person is a pervert by default?
  10. Exactly how badly is Morgan Freeman’s prescence expected to hurt the movie? Also, should his career be over because of this?
  11. I don’t understand why we have to assume that only one of these upcoming DC movies can be successful. Then again, I also don’t really understand why people are saying that this movie sounds more unique than Aquaman. I’m not saying this movie won’t do better than AM, but it honestly doesn’t sound any different from Spider-Man: Homecoming. Like I said earlier, they should’ve made Billy a pre-teen so that this movie would be able to stand out more. There’s nothing unique about a teen superhero.
  12. But Aquaman at least has the potential to have some really cool visual effects that are unlike anything from a Marvel movie. I mean, how many other live action movies have involved underwater cities with armored sharks and seahorses? Shazam, by comparison, doesn’t seem to have any unique hook to set it apart from all the other teen superhero movies out there. I’m not saying it’ll flop, or that it doesn’t have the potential to do better than Aquaman, but I just don’t see what makes it more unique than the former.
  13. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like Aquaman is the more interesting concept for a live action film. We’ve already had superhero movies starring teens before. The whole teenage superhero concept has frankly been done to death, and I’m pretty damn sick of it. I think they would’ve been better off making Billy a pre-teen or something.
  14. While I haven’t read the original Kipling stories, isn’t the Disney remake primarily based on the 1967 animated film? I know that the characterizations for Baloo and Kaa were different from how they were in the Kipling book.
  15. I will never understand why these toy-driven high school franchises like Monster High and DC Superhero Girls are so successful. Seriously, besides brand recognition, why is Wonder Woman in high school instead of Wonder Girl or something?
  16. I’m a little concerned about the fact that this movie will apparently feature the entire Shazam family. That seems a tad excessive for an origin film. Edit: Just to be clear, I don’t think this movie will be bad. I’m just curious about how they’re going to pull off bringing in all these characters in what’s supposed to be an origin story for Billy Batson.
  17. As far as how the animals look in this version, the fact that they’re using motion capture for these characters is obviously the reason why characters like Shere Khan have more human features.
  18. I still can’t really understand how they’re able to reference the Deadpool movies with this, but aren’t allowed to utter the name “Deathstroke”.
  19. But what specific scenes in the trailer are they supposed to show in order to get that point across? Dismemberment?
  20. If the movie is supposed to be darker than the recent Disney movie, why not let people know that from the marketing? Shouldn’t they want to set their movie apart?
