  1. it's crazy how Da 5 Bloods came and went by so quick and the only thing people remember from it is Delroy Lindo I wouldn't rule out Tenet as an Interstellar tech only player just yet, it might still pull off an inception if it's a hit with audiences. so for bp i think 1. Mank 2. Nomadland 3. Trial of the Chicago 7 4. News of the world. 5. Soul 6. Ma Rainey's Black Bottom 7. Respect 8 .Dune 9. Tenet 10. Da 5 Bloods French Dispatch is most likely a 2021 title at this point since Searchlight are going with Nomadland instead this fall. maybe if they release it in Feb it could make it in.
  2. Dunkirk wasn't at all "confusing" or had an "incomprehensible" plot. like some reviews are saying. I think the general audiences are going to like Tenet more than Dunkirk
  3. seems like the people who got disappointed were hoping for 10/10 and 9/10 type reviews but instead got a bunch of 7/10s and 8/10s
  4. yeah seems like it has a ridiculous plot but strong spectacle. it reminds me of Aquaman which mean i'll probably like it.
  5. wait is it confusing because he doesn't do enough exposition to explain it? what did I fear come to pass?
  6. I predict Tenet will get 81 on MC and 93% on RT. Nolan's highest rated movie on Metacritic is Dunkirk with 94 and on RT The Dark Knight with 94% approval rating. although my favorite Nolan movies (Prestige/Interstellar) are more rated in the 70s/60s. I have been more interested in World War movies recently so I feel like I should give Dunkirk a rewatch. it's the only 2010s Nolan movie that didn't impress me much on first watch.
  7. Haven’t seen one of these since BoP weekend thread. does Unhinged have THU previews? Or just straight up opening on Friday
  8. And it’s down to 40k. This market was gonna be huge for Tenet. Hope they delay to a better time so it can earn closer to its true potential, rather than releasing it now and have it flop when people are afraid of the recent surge of the pandemic
  9. this whole "2020 won't have anymore major releases" rhetoric has already became irrelevant when Tenet, Mulan and New Mutants stopped getting delayed.
  10. not surprised as this has been getting mostly panned since it came out and it looked as generic as they come but i'll still give it a watch cus the first one is my favorite zombie movie.
  11. the usual wait time for hollywood movies to go on VOD is 2-3 months after theatrical release (before corona) but with the way WB are planning to release Tenet in a slower roll out and they want it to keep playing for more than 3 months means they will probably hold off the digital release as long as possible to make sure it earns its full potential in theaters. so I wouldn't be surprised if they have to wait to like Dec/Jan before releasing it on digital.
  12. what makes major theater chains that overcharge for popcorn & soda (concessions in general are a ripoff and overpriced) be any less greedy than the movie studio that makes the movie?
  13. Hmm how long will the 63% share go for Tenet in this limited release? iirc Disney got 65% of TLJ gross for the first 4 weeks (domestically obviously)
  14. Think I’m gonna have to watch this on a camrip since theaters are still closed (and virus cases have been rising for past week and some restrictions in certain regions are expected to go back in place) last time I saw a camrip of a movie was Solo A Star Wars Story (theaters were closed in Ramadan) and before that was Wonder Woman back in 2017 (movie was banned in the region for political reasons). The worst thing about cam rips is usually just sound quality but besides that most camrips are watchable i guess
  15. Less exposition in a nolan movie means you wont understand it lol. or it will have a no1curr plot like Dunkirk.
  16. I think the expectation of Tenet right now is more to give theaters a new blockbuster to play rather than make money for the studio. a 250M-400M gross for Tenet would be a box office bomb (for the studio) but it would've restored consumer confidence in going back to theaters. so if Tenet does well, WB might consider keeping WW84 (their real money maker) this year. kind of like how Disney might consider sending black widow to Disney+ if Mulan does well with that new model theyre trying.
