  1. so it seems like the pandemic will have no long term effects on the theatrical/VOD windows as some were expecting earlier in the year. Unhinged is dated for Nov 17 digital release which would be about 3 months after its north american theatrical release. I imagine Tenet will be in Dec/Jan as Nolan movies sometimes take longer to go to digital (Dunkirk took 5 months iirc) there is the AMC/Universal 17-day deal thing but that's probably just for box office bombs so it doesn't matter. also I am now convinced that the theater experience will never die out. if a once in a century pandemic couldn't do anything to change it. then nothing else would.
  2. i haven't seen that many Ghilibi movies but Grave of the fireflies is by far the most impressive.
  3. idk about Tenet but Inception & Interstellar were very straightforward.. I actually heard Nolan made the movie plot structure over-complicated on purpose to encourage repeat viewings. so that might help with legs.
  4. so WoM here is very good. with strong legs could Tenet finish with 20M-30M USD?
  5. English isn’t my first language but from what I’ve seen in film discussions online. Boring is a description people use to describe movies that are slow paced. like Roma/2001/BR2049/Leave No Trace/Portrait/Ad Astra/Let the right one in and basically any film that tries to be “artsy” in terms of pacing.
  6. That’s disappointing but I doubt I could’ve gotten tickets either way since they will be “limited” and capacity will be similar to that of a real cinema. And TIFF members will get them a week early too. I think there’s still a chance for some of the high profile titles to get leaked/recorded. But I wanted to check some of lesser known ones
  7. The only reason this movie is in awards consideration is because of the cast. The film itself will be a boring slow paced gay romance with strong acting and showy cinematography like Lee’s previous film. Which is definitely something that wouldn’t attract the academy’s attention. Critic circles would give it more love tho. im taking it off my best picture predictions for now (even with a weak year I bet it’ll miss, even Carol couldn’t get a BP nom) but I’ll keep it in for acting/cinematography, until I see it at least.
  8. didn't they hire someone to write a supergirl movie that was said to be more in development than the MoS sequel?
  9. rewatched the trailer a couple of times, I think i'm gonna dislike Paul Dano's Riddler who just sounds like a discount Joker. also I dont think i got the point of the last shot either, why did he have to punch that thug 13 times? is it because this batman is still in year 2 so he doesn't have that much strength and a single or double punch isn't enough to knock someone down?
  10. this looks like the best movie of the year for me. I imagine it will be as boring/slow as Francis Lee previous film so that’s exciting
  11. TIFF' 20 schedule is up. Ammonite & Nomadland are getting a digital screening online. (seems like most of the Gala & Special presentations are getting online screenings as well). I know tickets will be limited but this will probably still create a piracy nightmare for them if those high-profile movies leak. it'll only be available to canadians but I'll try to see if i can get around it with a VPN
  12. Great, now m*n will be winning both awards 🙄
  13. Seems like theaters here are gonna remain closed until we get a vaccine distributed. So mid to late 2021 I guess. i was going to see Tenet on a camrip but it sounds like it’s not worth it to see it early. The whole thing sounds like a lesser Dunkirk. So I’ll wait for the digital release in January or w/e.
  14. i meant more for lead but yeah TDKR had a great supporting cast. Tom Hardy was kept hidden behind a mask the whole time tho
  15. oh i mixed them up, that sounds about right for Unhinged then. is canadian box office usually 9-10% of US? or are anomalies common for some films. Did avengers endgame make 70M-80M in Canada?
