I kind of get why the Creator flopped. I was thinking to see it today and I just can't make myself get to the cold ass theater for two and a half hours for this. Once I get past the actual concept of rooting for a movie like this, it just seems so boring. And if they can't get me....
Having just watched the trailer. I must say that the kid robot makes me want to cancel my tickets,

Uh, there are many more WGA members then there are writing jobs available. it has always been that way. The competition for jobs is going to always be fierece. And I don;t see this changing.

Watched no trailers neither, and watched the movie and Ughh what could be told? Well, art is subjective, maybe you like it who knows.
IMAX worthy?

I haven't watched any trailers of this movie, but I did see an excerpt that it was one of the best sci fi movies of the decade.
Does anybody know if it's IMAX worthy?

I see that absolutely nothing has changed on this place, especially the reason I left the board. Same old power plays, same old Cartman’s ‘respect my authority’ schtick.
Oh well, I’m glad that The Marvels got the IMAX screens. Excited for November.
Welcome Back!

When does the Pre-sales for this movie start?

@ChipDerby has been threadbanned for 24 hours for continuing to start fights and arguments I asked him to stop and continuing their schtick. I didn't want to have to do this, but I was left with no other choice.
I implore you, God Empire King @Eric the Creator. Please reinstate the FanBoy Wars Thread.

I don’t agree with all films getting a diversity boost but Black Panther is absolutely guilty of that.
It even got nominated for best picture. The only modern Marvel/DC superhero films with 80+ Metacritic are Dark Knight, ITSV, ATSV and Black Panther.
And BP is obviously nowhere close to being the same level as the other 3, and it’s actually the highest at 88.
Let’s be honest. The other 3 are not even touching the Dark Knight’s boots.

The last superhero movie with a majority female audience was the first Wonder Woman. Despite earning less than Captain Marvel Domestically, it felt like a bigger social phenomenon.

Netflix can't keep getting away from this.

I'm curious to see who wins out between Marvels and Aquaman. Personally, I'm thinking $500 mil for Marvels and $450 mil for Aquaman 2

Ok I can confidently say your <$400M prediction is 100% not happening. There's no way this drops 66%+ from the first one. I know The Flash imploded to $268m WW but this is a far, far safer bet.
Shazam 2 dropped 64%

To revive the CBM industry and save it from the laws of diminishing returns, They need a movie that's timeless.
A movie, where 10-15 years down the line, people will still flock to see in theaters like the Dark Knight.
One gripe with tension, intensity, thrill, animosity, brooding conflict(s), an immense struggle, a great script with epic dialogue, a loud and compelling score.
I recommend they start ripping off Greeko-Roman Epics.

Even if you don't believe the AMPTP's self-reported stance of Yom Kippur being a deadline for (this round of) negotiations and that if they don't get a deal by then they'll walk away from the table, negotiations would still very likely be suspended during Yom Kippur due to so many of the folks involved observing Yom Kippur.
I did not realize the Jewish studio executives were religious. Always assumed they were the secular/agnostic types.

Sundown and the beginning of Yom Kippur in LA is 9:47 eastern and 6:47 Pacific, so that's the absolutely latest we will know (and likely earlier).
What’s that got to do with anything?

They have ran out of the fresh, new and engaging ideas. The well is dry and with it comes an accumulation of their worst habits. When they "tried" something "new" like Eternals, it turned out to be an utterly boring dud of a movie.

This is commonly said any time labor makes any gains and...
You know, I don't think it's true. I'm tempted to say "it isn't true at all", but I'll preface instead by saying: Maaaaybe at the edges at most.
Ultimately prices are dictated by what people are willing to pay. Tempted again to say something like "no more, no less", but it is slightly more complicated than that, but only just.
When it comes right down to it a small increase in labor costs isn't passed onto the consumer if the consumer is already paying at the price point they feel like buying at.
What I do agree with is that less things might be made or structured in such a way that they're cheaper overall. But it seems to me that this fight isn't so much over making more pies, but how the pies are split (and how the pies are made, as well).
So while I get what you're saying I tend to think you're not right at all. Price increases come because (enough) people are willing to pay them. One look at the ticket prices for high profile collegiate sports, which even with tons of money going to various boondoggles, is nowhere near the amount of money being spent on pro sports.
If prices were going to go up, they would have gone up anyway. As such I'd rather the folks making the product get those benefits than them disappearing somewhere into higher ends of the corporate structure.
Studios will be cutting productions, and hiking their prices to pay for it. As well as constantly changing their catalogue

The Marvels - Flop
Aquaman 2 - Flop
Deadpool 3 - Underperforms
Venom 3 - Lower than Venom 2
Captain America 4 - Flop
Kraven - Bomb
Madame Web - Bomb
ThunderBolts - Flop
Joker 2 - Less than the first one
The first Joker had monster legs domestically and overseas.
And personally, I just think Deadpool is annoying as hell.
