  1. Scorsese IS a cool win. Even if it is a consensus victory.
  2. Yes, it's like that as well! Any actor who doesn't normally play angry gangsters who plays an angry gangster is guaranteed an Oscar nomination, it seems. Because if Bobby DeNiro had played Bernie Rose nobody would give that peformance a second glance.
  3. Anyone seen A History of Violence? Brooks in Drive reminds me of William Hurt in that. Both got loads of awards attention just because both actors don't really play roles like that...
  4. LA went for Descendants as wellEDIT: NO THEY DIDN'T! The winner was A Separation. Ugh, I can't read
  5. It looks like adapted screenplay is gonna be a race between those two films
  6. Agreed. I actually thought Plummer gave the better performance...
  7. I don't think Brooks stands out amongst other amazing supp. actors in that film like Cranston, Perlman or Isaac, but whatever, more wins for Drive are more wins for Drive.
  8. Plummer wins in LA. I thought Brooks was gonna go 3/3.
  9. That's one I haven't seen. But everyone says it's amazing so I'm just surprised that Jeff hates it that much.
  10. We Need To Talk about Kevin sticks out like a sore thumb on that list. WTF?
  11. You can't blame her for this. All of these films were filmed at completely different times, several got delayed and they all ended up being released at once...
  12. Yeah, i can understand why someone would think like that but I think I've watched 50+ 2011 films online!
  13. I wish these groups would just pick one Chastain film to award her. It would help her A LOT in the Oscar race.
  14. Yeah, it's been online for ages now. And I wouldn't call it funny in a bad way.... I'd call it the worst movie I've seen all year... in a bad way. Close is kinda decent but Janet McTeer is outright bad.
  15. Janet McTeer in Albert Nobbs is such an overrated performance. Everyone saying she owns Close are kidding themselves!
  16. I've only seen half those films, but 4/5 would make my best of the year list, so mad props to Wells even if he's a bit ridiculous sometimes... ok maybe more than a bit ridiculous, and maybe a little bit more than just sometimes....
  17. LA voting Supp. Actress. If they go with mcCarthy I'll throw up.
  18. And remember guys, all the winners of the bigger categories are being added in the OP. Don't let my work go unappreciated!
  19. Honestly, Rose Byrne was better in Bridesmaids. And UGH, this is taking ages. Why can't they decide all the winners before they announce?
