Yes, it's like that as well! Any actor who doesn't normally play angry gangsters who plays an angry gangster is guaranteed an Oscar nomination, it seems. Because if Bobby DeNiro had played Bernie Rose nobody would give that peformance a second glance.
Anyone seen A History of Violence? Brooks in Drive reminds me of William Hurt in that. Both got loads of awards attention just because both actors don't really play roles like that...
I don't think Brooks stands out amongst other amazing supp. actors in that film like Cranston, Perlman or Isaac, but whatever, more wins for Drive are more wins for Drive.
You can't blame her for this. All of these films were filmed at completely different times, several got delayed and they all ended up being released at once...
Yeah, it's been online for ages now. And I wouldn't call it funny in a bad way.... I'd call it the worst movie I've seen all year... in a bad way. Close is kinda decent but Janet McTeer is outright bad.
I've only seen half those films, but 4/5 would make my best of the year list, so mad props to Wells even if he's a bit ridiculous sometimes... ok maybe more than a bit ridiculous, and maybe a little bit more than just sometimes....
