^Though obviously the script has been rewritten since DOR got his hands on it. They've probably made the part much bigger/more interesting if they can get someone like Jennifer Lawrence to do it.
Yeah, there aren't many specific shots that stand out to me there. I would definitely say that the vfx or the production design is what makes the movie look great more so than what the cinematographer was doing.
Eh, the cinematography itself was kinda ordinary to me. Deakins makes digital look like film to a stunning effect. I can remember way more great imagery from Skyfall than I can from Life of Pi.
I think the most important thing about the WGAs this year was that LOUIE won something. Mad Men also finally won something for it's incredible fifth season too.
It's definitely got that Goodfellas-esque tone. Though this is the first script, and DOR has rewritten the script since and he's pretty good with comedy. There's some funny stuff to do with the character that I'm just kinda assuming is the one being played by Louis CK.
I thought it was confirmed that the three musicals I mentioned were gonna be the only ones they'd be tributing. Y'know, the ones the academy actually paid attention to.
Oh, there shall be A LOT of singing. There's gonna be a big musicals tribute for Chicago, Dreamgirls and Les Mis! I don't know why, but still that's gonna be a thing!
I thought the Jon Stewart ones were great. He was an awesome host.
Anyway, I've watched a few times but in recent years I can't usually be bothered. Sleep through it and watch some of the speeches from the winners I care about on youtube in the morning.
Isn't it over at like, 7am in Finland. Christ....
Not sure I'll watch this year. Sounds totally padded with pointless shit to me. Tributes to James Bond, tributes to musicals blah, blah, blah.
