  1. Indo-China stuff don't sell as better as Indo-Pak. I don't think any Indo-China film being HIT. In their heart our public is Islamophobic & Pakistan get that disputed brother treatment.
  2. Woah, the week is already over. That passed quickly. Week 13 27 June - 03 July, 2020 Movies Once Upon a Time in West: This was pretty great. 2nd fav Western after Good Bad and Ugly. 8/10. Kedarnath: So this is an Indian film about 2013 Cloud Burst in Kedarnath (A Hindu Temple). The film follows the Titanic route of showing disaster in setting of love story. The romance part is quite decent, Disaster part was okayish for the budget and technical ability of Bollywood, but film end up asking for more. The death of Mansoor, unlike Titanic, is more idiotic than sympathetic. Lenient 4/10. Relatos Salvajes: LMAO. The english title is Wild Tales and man those are some wild tales, especially the first, third and fifth one. The other three are pretty great too. 8/10. Good Boys: Few good laughs in the beginning which sadly were also in the trailers, by the end just a bit too kiddish. 4/10. Star Trek: Into The Darkness: I watched the first one few years back, didn't loved it but it was decent. This is same, okay watch but nothing too good. 6/10. Movie of the Week: Relatos Salvajes TV Dark S03: So I watched it and shared the thread here I guess. Was disappointed TBH, and pretty sad too as the public response is unanimously positive. May be will give it a watch sometime after. No Rating.
  3. The first few pages. OS prediction being less is one thing but no one even gave 700mn domestic a thought.

  6. Middle East will emerge as a big market by mid of 2020. UAE is as big as $300mn per year, will probably reach $400mn. Saudi Arabia could be as big as $1.25-1.5 Billion, which will make it bigger than likes of Germany, Italy, etc. Overall Middle East would be about $2-2.25 Billion.

  9. One, that guy is chu. Two, I mean all the schedule is pushed 7-8 months, March release is unlikely. I will say Diwali 21 or pre-Xmas. Sooryavanshi is supposedly first film, but hardly anyone in industry think it will release this year.
  10. I don't think GoT is made by just 10-15 people. For starters there are 500+ characters in the series. And of course a lot of extras. How could you Simply miss that simple a point. If GoT is able to give tha quality not seen in films, with just $15mn, what the fuck are movies doing. That was the point.
  11. I don't think this is just production budget, this must include actors remunerations. @Barnack will have much better info on this. Also if GoT is able to do such high production value with just $15mn, I assume excluding actor & creator's fee, than may be that's the way to do it. GoT Big 5 got $1mn per episode, there are others as well including Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, Issac, etc. which would have been paid big.
  12. Not really IMO. Muslim character and Eid release. It was bonkers in Muslim countries even beating Endgame in Middle East.

  14. Ok so I did E.T. and it actually beat Star Wars in first run, however, after Special Edition, Star Wars has a small lead, which might not be there as we are here doing +/- 5% for old films.
  15. Got lazy and since there was no way it being in Top 5 and more around low 200s, I thought a broad guesstimate will do. Yeah might as well add it in coming days since
  16. Since Cinemagoing is non-essential, it would be pretty great if Cinemagoing is avoided for some time.
  17. Cinema before 80s was bit different. Cinema was only place you where you can watch a film. In 80s with coming up of VCRs, that stopped and admission went down. Only one Indian film is over 200mn or for that matter 150mn. I am no Chinese expert but yesterday I was given some data, In 1979, there were 29 Billion viewership in China. That includes mobile cinema. Now I don't know what exactly were those numbers but that's what.
  18. There isn't really any admission lost as admission are basically estimated from the gross which was officially reported. The reason for Titanic being smaller in 1st run is same as ET/Star Wars is smaller than Titanic, the international markets. The international markets outside Europe are bigger than they were in 90s. China had just 16mn admits in 1st run while Endgame is 86mn.
