  1. Damn. I was more confident for Avengers Endgame crossing $1 Bn weekend than people on this board for going $200mn.
  2. for a bit in 2015 and then 2016 but then never again.
  3. AUD 10M is not that big at all. from there to AUD10mn opening day. Besides, reading first pages of this thread was really nice. People thinking it will do 400, some optimists going as high as 600 but that's about it. I can only imagine how 895 would have felt.
  4. Still there if not considering anomalies of Avengers: Endgame, The Lion King, Spider-man and Captain Marvel in same year.
  5. Parasite Worldwide: $304 million Approx till date Asia/Pacific Europe and Africa America
  6. This is bit surprising. I thought The Avengers will be close to The Force Awakens but it fell short by some 35mn, with just 193mn admissions and inflation & ER adjusted gross in 2019 of $1.466 Billion at Avengers: Endgame ticket rates. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TH-Ls41nH4q1ap1ZLLdtIL7ZvBZLUPNyCBnGymiERFE/edit#gid=223167057
  7. Star Wars: The Force Awakens 231 million, which would be quite likely out of Top 10 since 1997. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TH-Ls41nH4q1ap1ZLLdtIL7ZvBZLUPNyCBnGymiERFE/edit#gid=982259346
  8. Finished Avengers: Infinity War. Crossed 300 million admissions, 3rd Highest since Titanic 1997, ahead of Avatar. Next up The Avengers, The Force Awakens, The Lord of The Rings: Return of the King. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TH-Ls41nH4q1ap1ZLLdtIL7ZvBZLUPNyCBnGymiERFE/edit#gid=1848255489
  9. Endgame admission I am told is around 5.3mn, the numbers for Avatar looked like actuals, so I thought maybe some site is updating it. Checked screen Australia found nothing.
  10. from where did you get this data, is it updated since that?
  11. I think you arrived at result by using NA admissions from Mojo which are incorrect and UK which use similar method. Adjusting for just USA will see it close to what we have in the The Admissions Count Thread.
  12. HP rebounded after Prisoner of Azkaban which now we consider as one of the best HP films but its reception was sort of ehh. Everybody I have met has said that they didn't like HP3 initially but now they do.
  13. If FB 3 can rebound and not drop below 700, we actually will. FB 2 though irl Flop still grossed $650mn, earning $280mn Theatrical SHARE, something only crossed by Joker & Aquaman for Warner iirc and eventually $60mn approx profit after good TV deals & Home Video sales.
  14. My 2020 Top Films are Thappad (Indian) Onward Love Aaj Kal (Indian) The Invisible Man Gulabo Sitabo (Indian)
  15. That is basically sensationalising the issue. SSR was said to be delusional & ambitious but no time to talk about such stuff.
  16. Sadak 2, well I think it's only positive is Alia Bhatt. Bhuj stars Ajay Devgn. Roohi Afzana is supposedly Stree universe film.
  17. Week 10: 06-12 June 2020 Watched few Korean films this week, was motivated by BOT Foreign film listing, but didn't really found anything worth listing, though found one non-Korean. 3 Iron: Now here's film you don't see the protagonist speak even once on screen. The concept is unusual but is thoroughly engaging and builds right amount of intrigue. 7/10. Capernaum: Simply brilliant. The child actor Zain is very lovable and whatever he does in film is very touching in this emotional tale. 8/10 Ps. The lead actor was a Syrian refugee & has a similar life condition before the film. He is now an actor in Eternals. Extreme Job: Fun cop flick, with good laughs throughout. 6/10. Twilight (Re-watch): https://twitter.com/iamjat32/status/1270307076284149760?s=19 The Lighthouse: Watched it after Twilight rewatch, Pattinson is great actor, wonder what exactly was wrong with him in Twilight. Anyhow, great acting in rather okayish film. 6/10. Gulabo Sitabo: First Bollywood major film to skip Theatrical release and release directly on OTT. The film is from director with really great track record, this not so much. Still pretty good flick with good acting performance. Would have flopped theatrically though. 6/10. The Handmaiden: Erotic Thriller which is one, very erotic, two quite decent thriller. There's a one very good sequence in the end with can say film's two main antagonist. Overall a good film boosted by well the above two. 7/10. Movie of the Week: Capernaum
  18. In India, Disney is about to shake the exhibition sector. So far Amazon and Netflix announced some medium films, but Disney+ will be going with 2-4 big films and other medium stuff.
