  1. I have watched only 2 episodes and I wonder how they are going to even go for 3 seasons let alone however long they went. Didn't like the first 2 much to continue. Will give chance in future.
  2. Is it though? Aren't they everywhere? I mean we can't even open Torrent in India without VPN.
  3. I can understand that people paying $20 for VOD, I can't understand when Blu Ray is $20, VOD is $20 too. If BR is $50, then VOD $20 is all but understandable. or they are delaying Blu Ray for next 4 months. Another question, why isn't Torrent popular in USA? In India Torrent has killed basically whole of Home Video market. In fact now OTT being affordable has stopped many of us from torrenting but even they help Torrents with HD quality prints, which earlier used to come after months, now its just 8 weeks at max.
  4. Week VI 09-15 May 2020 Movies Donno after how long, didn't watched any movie or TV show during the week.
  5. What I was saying. The producers will use the leverage for better terms with plexes to not skip theatrical window. Currently producers are asking for better terms and some even share in overpriced F&B, which is rational in some sort. Last time the trade war happened was in 2009, back then producers had nothing to leverage and they were losing the huge Plex business. Now they have OTT money, even par 60-70% of theatrical. For some films OTT > Theatrical. Now they can use that leverage and do direct release in OTT & Single Screens. The Plex audience is mostly on OTT, Plexes will have to listen the producers.
  6. Not for studio. I mean studio will obviously like money. Its consumer I am talking about. Isn't it more rational to buy the content at some $20 than rent for few days in same price. That's what I was saying. If VOD is $20, totally expect Blu Ray to exceed $50 even, but that's not gonna happen either I guess. Not same but similar. In India Google Play/You Tube rent a movie for a month with 48 hours watch time in ₹150 i.e. $2. You can buy the same film in ₹720 i.e. $9.75.
  7. Why will anyone do that? I mean $20 for a film for some days? Isn't Blu Ray at $20 a better option?
  8. BTW, did Trolls 2 made $100mn on VOD or Physical/Digital? VOD TBH doesn't make much sense. Just release it on Physical/Digital no?
  9. Amazon Prime India has acquired 7 Indian films for direct-to-digital premiere. 1. Gulabo Sitabo 2. Shakuntala Devi 3. Ponmagal Vandhal (Tamil) 4. French Biryani (Kannada) 5. Law (Kannada) 6. Sufiyum Sujathayum (Malayalam) 7. Penguin (Tamil-Telugu)
  10. Prime Video announced half a dozen direct OTT releases in India starting with Plexes tried to threaten industry sorta Unlike Hollywood, Bollywood producer guild stand with Producers.
  11. Not shelved. All pre-production completed. Film will start shooting whenever restrictions lifted. we could start having indoor shooting in some weeks.
  12. I mean, okay people don't like Argo, which I absolutely loved the first & last time I watched in 2013 iirc but TWWB is a film loved by pretentious lot and good enough film for normal moviegoers like me. Should be in Top 15 IMO atleast.
  13. Yeah, the film is one of the best films made in its genre recently.
  14. Yes it do. I didn't liked Pilot at all in my 1st watch. Then watched S1 after some time and binged the whole thing after that.
  15. Gulabo Sitabo: Prime Video Laxmi Bomb: Disney+ Gunjan Saxena: Netflix And couple of small film
  16. Week 5 (3rd-8th May 2020) Movies Byôsoku 5 senchimêtoru: English title '5 Centimeter Per Second' by the director of Your Name. I was going to watch Weathering With You but the print available are with blurred sub space so skipped it for now and watched this. The film is story of a man's love for a girl in 3 acts in 3 different age; teenager and finally as adult. I personally liked the first one most. The film just like Your Name and Weathering With You is very beautiful. 7/10 Wake Up Sid: Same old Bollywood film pretending to be not, which might have felt good back when it released but poorly dated. 2/10 The Big Short: The behind the scene of 2008 recession told in a way of Disaster movie, with people in top ignoring the 'expert' and then the disaster starts unfolding. Good acting performances. 6/10 Hercules (1997): Watched it randomly, okay Disney animation. Nothing special. 5/10 Lincoln: The film is the performances basically, not something I had expected, with film just focusing on Slavery abolition amendment. Now I would have loved if they had just focused entirely on Congress proceedings in House of Card sorta. DDL is life of film, he look & live like Lincoln. 6/10 The Avengers: Watched only 3rd act. The film looks awful even for time. Joss Whedon is a terrible director and thank God he didn't do Infinity War and Endgame. NR Bourne Identity: My biggest complain about film was the relationship developed between Bourne and Marie, which looked fake, out of place and illogical in this action spy film. The film is tale of amnesic spy searching for his identity and wasn't really impressed knowing that. 5/10 Haider: Rewatched it but will count as first time watch, I had only watched it once in low quality Camrip but I did liked it. This time, first half was almost perfect but as the film go toward climax, Vishal Bhardwaj started losing it going in more commercial tone but the first half set up is strong enough to hold it. The film capture Kashmir as Kashmir. Shahid is flawless and we are lucky to have Tabu. Irrfan as Roohdar is Fire. 8/10 Movie of the Week: Haider Haider is available on Netflix. I was gonna share Trailer but Trailer spoils a key element of the film. Don't watch the Trailer before watching the film.
  17. Free time, so thinking to do some random posts. India weekend record-breakers (in recent to oldest order). In India, trade uses first 3 days for weekend comparison for mid-week releases. 18. I guess these would be propoganda films shown in mobile projections free of cost in many years. so possible I guess. Despite 2.6Bn viewers, gross is just ¥40mn. That guy is pretty reliable for old Chinese box office.
