  1. Naa, what I meant was. Universal gross $1.5-1.9Bn a year, off which AMC is $325-400mn GROSS. AMC make roughly 45% of that as their share i.e. $150-180mn. If they give their screens to other films, they will earn something atleast. So ultimately $100mn loss of Net Revenue. I missed F&B though.
  2. If AMC decide to continue with this, they will roughly lose $100mn of net revenue. Universal got more to lose with media perception of low gross, say even 10% impact (AMC is 22% of Nation, assuming half of that is lost).
  3. the most impressive story about Irrfan. him not able to watch Jurassic Park due to lack of money in '94 and owning Jurassic World in 2015.
  4. 60% is no way bad. That's rightful only. Besides, that 60% is media reported only. The Baahubali 2 distributor told that they were given 48% by AMC which they said is higher than most Hollywood films they give. To TFA they gave 49.5% Approx. For other films they are 40-45%. Cinemark gives South Indian films 55-60% so it's not really a hard asking for 60%. So if producers can get revenue, where they get 80-100% of the collection, I am all for it. Amyways, I slip to cinemas worldwide. Prices in West are actually ok. A film ticket cost less than one hour minimum wage or par. In India, it's par/higher than one day minimum wage.
  5. Fuck these theatres. I have zero sympathy with them. Its producer's film, he has the right to chose the way he gonna recover the money. In India Multiplexes loot audience with high prices for films & ridiculous prices for food. They fuck producer/distributor in term of Share, VPFs, etc. Fuck them.
  6. Sorcerer Stone: No favourite scene as such but Wizarding World recognising Harry felt good and Harry being in awe of it. Chamber of Secrets: Chamber Prisoner of Azkaban: Time Turner & Whomping Willow Goblet of Fire: Graveyard scene Order of Phoenix: Final Battle between Voldy & Dumbledore Half Blood Prince: Liquid Luck, Cave, Everyone lifting their Wands on Dumbledore death and You Dare Use My Spells on me. Deathly Hallows 1: Seven Potter, The Journey, Dobby is a Free Elf. Deathly Hallows 2: Piertotum Locomotor and Protective Spells, Snape's memories and Harry getting up after Neville speech. All Potter films had great 3rd act. All of them. Deathly Hallows just like Endgame peaked in start of 3rd act but still ended better than Endgame for me.
  7. And MCU Phase 3 changed that. And changed it how? Biggest Movie Franchise the World has ever seen.
  8. I guess. Its resolved than. Star Wars is bigger in USA and Harry Potter is bigger elsewhere and worldwide.
  9. Yeah exactly. The accounting for film need to be different from the Hollywood films they do. For direct producers, cost won't be that high. It will be much lower since they didn't incur the cost to release the film except for regular markets.
  10. Worldwide boxoffice is $300mn. South Korea theatrical SHARE itself will be $35mn. I don't know how they come on $26mn Global theatrical or $50mn Foreign Sales. Taking $70mn cost as Deadline estimated. We don't know what was agreement between the producer & distributor. Accounting will be much more different from Hollywood accounting.
  11. Half a dozen Indian films will be directly coming on Netflix and Disney + Hotstar.
  12. Watched Indian film Love Aaj Kal. Really liked it. https://www.netflix.com/title/81113920?s=a&trkid=13747225&t=cp
  13. Rewatched 'The Crimes of Grindelwald', being super lenient, hoping may be the film will get some better but gosh the film is unlikable. All the characters are super boring & nothing at all except Hogwarts theme work in the film. IDK how the makers plan on saving the series.
  14. Not universal. Of all things. Thing about Dark Phoenix is that it was known that it will be last of X-men but FB 2 was never last of prequels. I want them to get done with Grindelwald chapter ASAP and start the proper HP prequel of First Wizarding World War.
  15. BTW I am not a reader, information like this is all written in novels or there are other sources too. https://harrypotter.fandom.com/wiki/International_Statute_of_Wizarding_Secrecy
  16. So I rewatched 'The Crimes of Grindelwald', being super lenient, hoping may be the film will get some better but gosh the film is unlikable. All the characters are super boring & nothing at all except Hogwarts theme work in the film. IDK how the makers plan on saving the series. And ffs get done with these fucking Fantastic Beasts.
  17. Whatever film will come on May weekend 2022 will have Eid holiday in East and Middle East. Good release date.
  18. What are we supposed to do then. Track COVID cases? PS. Yeah 225 disappointment bar is wrong on me. That should be 200mn Approx. 225 is sort of what it can do.
  19. The Disney opening weekend record. At start of 2010: $136mn (2006) At end of 2015: $248mn At end of 2020: $357mn The Non-Disney opening weekend record At start of 2010: $158mn (2008) At end of 2015: $208mn At end of 2020: $208mn
  20. Thor 4 I will be going with $1.4Bn atleast. USA $500mn (315) China $300mn (113) India $27mn (11) Rest $600mn (414) Total: $1425mn (853)
  21. Not relevant thread but whatever. I never paid attention, but biggest non-Disney opening weekend record barring the fluke Jurassic World is 9 years ago. Harry Potter 8. Not only tells how big was Potter but damn, that's less than half of Endgame. How pathetic was last decade non-Disney.
