Yeah, I was thinking that notion in China for India would be like it's a bad place for women (Toilet, Pad Man, etc). I mean those are the films set in the absolute poor region of India. What about the normal India. Aamir Khan films that have worked are either with student issue or social issues. May be if he do a romantic film that work but sadly the last one he did was a decade and half ago in 2006. I was so rooting for Baahubali 2 to work there for a change, it didn't. Hopefully this do.

No they didn't. That last scene was fucking great in theatre and when it come in the film. Solid feel. This gonna breakout and China gonna start see Indian films other than those shitty social dramas.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan did $40mn last year with similar release post $2.1mn (Holiday, say $1.2mn real value) opening with 9.6 Maoyan.

Possible but unlikely. 1. Shazam don't have Christmas/New Year. 2. Aquaman didn't had Endgame in Week 4. 3. Even if it match Aquaman every where else, China going to be around half.

By end of August, this could have been 9 MCU films at top but Aquaman seems like will lead Cap by $20 odd millions. Nvm.

It has 9.6 on Maoyan, though release is limited but I won't rule out $30mn plus full run. Japan and Rest may add another 6-10mn. That would place it at $916-920mn, the higher limit will be putting it just above Shrek at #51 worldwide for Hollywood. Could have hit #50 but Cap Marvel will join top 25 by then.

Yeah Deadline gets it wrong few times but most of the time they are in neighbourhood and that's even more impressive because Friday estimates are easy, Thursday there isn't anyone else other than them.
