  7. Inflation unadjusted, else there will be many in 20th century. Even this century, Dabangg will be much bigger.
  8. The film is a box office flop and yeah it was stupid. The reason 2.0 is this big because it catered to whole India, while others are just limited to their respective industries, barring KGF. There are mainly 5 industries in India Bollywood (Hindi) ~ 40% Tollywood (Telugu) ~ 12-15% Kollywood (Tamil) ~ 12-15% Mollywood (Malayalam) ~ 5% Sandalwood (Kannada) ~ 5% Rest (including Punjabi, Marathi, Gujarati, etc) ~ 15% Foreign films ~ 10-15%

  12. And now, Titanic is still most watched Hollywood film in India, until May this year though.
  13. That's weird, because Simmba is sort of film that a boyfriend will take his girl to watch. If you like Masala films go watch it, not my cup of tea though.
  14. I think $300mn is quite easy. US will be around $125mn most likely. China could go bonkers for this one, no one knows.
  15. Aquaman seems like $325mn finish if it follow the first Hobbit from here on. $215mn by New Year. Hobbit did $65mn after $9.5mn New Year day i.e. ~7x, assuming a $16mn New Year day roughly gives $110mn. Another way is post New Year weekend of $32mn, Hobbit added $82mn i.e. 2.55x, that will give Aquaman $135mn after this weekend, i.e. $190mn + $135mn.
  16. The film will basically wrap up at $11-13mn from here. USA trend is good, weekdays ~ weekend, but number are lower. It will gross $2mn in first week and most like close at $3.5-3.75mn. In ideal situation, should have done these numbers in first weekend itself.
  17. @terrestrial the above Australia and New Zealand are local currency. Besides lost interest in tracking after watching the film. Just tracked the numbers today morning. Overseas weekend is $5.06 million, since all markets aren't reported on Rentrak/comScore, some markets are estimated based on historical numbers and my direct link with distributor.
  18. Zero is looking at ₹27-30cr Net (₹35-38cr Gross $5-5.5mn) opening day going by initial pre-sales. That's a bit lower than what I expected but can pick up in the next 2 days. Going by the early reports on content, the weekend would be ₹92-102cr Nett (₹118-130cr Gross $17-18.5mn).
  19. The minimum bump in international for sequels is 20% for Iron Man 2 and Ant Man and The Wasp. Rest all have big growth.
  20. Naah. It won't break out. It's just doing good for animation films, nothing major. Will be half of Incredible 2.
