So far, it has a 34% Audience Score on RT.
Strangely the all audience score is 52%.
I've never seen the all audience score be higher than the verified one before.

If that is what you consider botching the Paul Walker ending, then I don't know what to say. The movie works because that ending works, if not for that ending perfectly landing the movie wouldn't have got the favorable reviews and reception it got.
Probably doesnt make 1.5B either.

The Paul Walker ending was the most perfect it could ever be.
That ending had my whole audience in tears.

@Firepowercan you PM? Or anyone else. Thank you kindly.

Off topic but I almost feel bad for Tom Hardy lol. You can tell he absolutely despises making those films lol, Paycheque gig though.
Venom was the most fun I think I've seen him have on camera and by all accounts he loves the role.

But short run time normally does suggest there is insufficient plot to carry the film to begin with....I mean this is shorter than animation.
I watch a lot of older films from the 20s to the 50s and a lot of them are under 90 minutes. Some are just an hour.
A lot of modern movies are needlessly bloated.
Feel the same show about tv shows tbh. Some of them have about 6 or 7 episodes worth of plot but have 12 episodes.
But, in reference to Venom 2, well if it's a few less scenes of Michelle William's sleeping through this, that's fine by me. I dont think this films quality would improve by another 30 minutes.
Gimme 90 minutes of woody and hardy being hammy I'm fine with that. Wasnt expecting much plot from this.

Short run times are fine by me. Cut out all the fat that nobody cares about. If you don't have 2.5 hours of story to tell for the love of god stop padding it with scenes that add nothing.
People whine if your movie is 90 minutes and whine if its 180. Apparently only films in the 120-160 range are okay.

It must be nice living in America making a big deal for a fake accent.
I'm sure she would be cool with a person doing a stereotype of a chinese accent. Oh wait. She said that is bad. Huh. Weird.

I'm astounded that her playing a character in music videos has you so in your feelings.
Guess she should slap on some black face too while she is at it, complete the character. She is a rapper after all that makes it okay.

She doesn't need to address shit. She's a rapper and she's allowed to act like one.
I'm astounded at this ignorance.

Enough of this already. Check her out in THE FAREWELL. Girl can act. It's cool if you don't dig her, but can we stop this "we must cancel you for one bad career choice you make"? Hey, it's an issue worth interrogating, OK; I can understand some feelings...but let's use this opportunity to talk about these things (and yes, she should, too). Stop hopping on the latest hate-trend on Twitter and start looking at the broader spectrum.
Latest hate trend? She has been called out for this for literally years since she first rose to fame off the back of her offensive caricature. Don't confuse you just hearing about it this week with reality. It's not cancelling someone to want them to apologize and address the issue.
Its really tired claiming having legitimate criticism of someone as cancelling them. Nobody is cancelling her. Her career is doing just fine. They simply want her to address the issue.

Haven't seen one bit of marketing for Malignant - no trailer and only one TV spot ever. I mostly know it because @ViewerAnon's tweets. Not sure this was a hit in any climate but they're def burying it.
It feels like WB buries every film nowadays with their tepid and underwhelming marketing campaigns.

So what or who were the rings signaling to?

I just hope Rock actually attempts to act and play the character in this instead of just being the same version of himself he is in every movie lately.
I want to see Black Adam.

Michelle Williams is seriously miscast in the part. She's a terrific actress, but she seems like she has absolutely no idea what she's doing in that first film. Obviously a lot of it comes down to a bad script and a bad director, but I still think she isn't a good fit. Jessica Chastain would've worked a lot better. Her and Tom Hardy worked really well together in Lawless.
She is doing it for a pay day and is putting in zero effort. It's a modern Bruce willis esque performance.

I think it'll be better received than the first one but I don't see it getting to fresh on the tomatometer.
I'm feeling somewhere in the 40% range critics on RT. Would love to be wrong, but idk, Venom is just too stupid of a character to make a legitimately good movie, especially the route Sony had taken with the character.
I think it'll do well with audiences tho like the first one. It looks fun
Eh, I think if you adapted agent venom or went and made a full out horror film with an R rating you could make a good venom film.
But, a lot of times venom was very campy in the comics so these movies fit that.

I think DUNE is absolutely going to drop, at least a little. Some critics I know have been whispering that they didn’t like it.
(I don’t mean to imply this will be a WW84 collapse! Just that based on what I’ve heard I would personally bet it ends up somewhere in the 70s on RT)
The fact its low to mids 80s off a film premiere at a festival lends itself to it going to drop.
That's the crowd that eats this kind of film up.

Thank god all that realism talk from Wan earlier was just a bunch of bullshit.
Maybe theyll have a complete band to compliment that octopus on drums this time.

I still cant wrap my head around that delay. Went from having little to no competition for weeks to releasing the same day as Halloween and last duel and a week before Dune.
Make it make sense Sony.
The rumored January delay I could have understood at least. Get the trailer in front of no way home, ride the wave of its success.
But nope.

Post like that made me love that Awkwafina is having so much success.
You love when people use fake minstrel black accents to get famous and then ditch the accent when it's not needed because they dont actually talk like that while loudly proclaiming they wont do minstrel accents for asian characters because that would be bad without a hint of self awareness?
Cool cool cool.

I will add on another note despite my feelings about the film.
My gf and I got there a little early and a younger chinese teen was there by himself a few seats away and started excitedly talking to us about the film. He had strong reactions throughout the whole film and chatted us up after and he adored it.
It was a cool little moment and he was so genuinely happy.

disliked the trailer but this sold me. Not a Wan fan either but I'm totally down to experience pure insanity in theaters again. Big reason why I enjoyed Old so much despite not appreciating M. Night generally. The more wackadoo original movies from studios, the better. (And yes, I know Old was a book)
Sadly, I think this is destined to flop. Under 10m OW, I fear. The marketing and buzz has been weak. WB clearly has no idea how to market this and accepted it'll bobm
I dont think WB knows how to market anything anymore. They went from being of the best if not the best at it, to being inept.

Thought this was just okay. Was a few legitimately great fight scenes sprinkled in the first 2 acts but I thought the drama and plotting was glacially slow and tedious.
Awkafina is a triple threat. Terrible rapper, terrible actress and terrible person. She has it all. I find her irritating and this was no different. Worst part of the film for me.
The 3rd act for me was great. I wasnt expecting it to be that since I went in pretty blind. It elevated the film for me. Maybe for others it won't work but for me I loved the grandiose mysticism and creatures.
Pretty middle of the pack MCU film for me.
