  1. Hey just wanted to let everyone know-here in Ontario they're getting antsy about Omincon covid, our numbers are jumping up, there's starting to be rumbling that they may peg us back a stage post Christmas-which may mean that all these lovely full theatre numbers up here....well we may go back to limited if not outright theatres closing. Nothing is definite right, just don't be surprised if getting Toronto numbers might not a be a thing for a while in the new year. Sigh....
  2. The Matrix Resurrections Greater Toronto Area, Ontario Dec 22 taken Dec 13 24 theatres 113 shows Total sold 2851 (dec 10 553) Total Remaining 27277 (dec 10 17920) total seats 30128 Percentage 9.46 percent
  3. Was going to do Sing 2 Today for Greater Toronto Area, but seeing how the numbers have barely budged in general since my last check (I mean still a bunch of zeros as far as seat sales) Ill give it another day or two. Im not sure its quite the same demo as Spidey in that regard, but I think that we may not see a large build up of presales, but it will be something that fills as we get into the actual Holiday time.
  4. Spiderman No Way Home Greater Toronto Area, Ontario Dec 16 Taken Dec 13 25 theatres 285 shows Total sold 34657 (up from 30779 on Dec 10) Total Remaining 39409 (42649 dec 10) Total seats 74066 percentage 46.79
  5. Ha.....hahah.....ahahha..... Spiderman No Way Home Greater Toronto Area, Ontario Dec 16 (Taken Dec 10) 25 theatres 281 shows Total Sold 30779 (dec 6 27378) Total Remaining 42639 (Dec 6 24583) Total Seats 73418(previous 51961) Percentage 41.92 So....total seats increased from 51 to 73 thousand, so yea that was a fun surprise thank you very much Cineplex. Can't wait till next wed when they do their final seat add for opening weekend....boy oh boy....
  6. So I saw the Canada comments so I thought I'd go back and do an update of Greater Toronto Area-alright thats cool........ Another massive add of seats since my last count....... So if anyone needs me Ill be back in the corner crying for the next while adding all these seats in a new count......sob.....
  7. Sing 2 Greater Toronto Area, Ontario Wed Dec 22 taken Dec 9 22 Theatres 95 shows Total Sold 156 Total Remaining 25284 Total Seats 25440 Percentage .6 Obviously very very early for Toronto and area. For a movie that properly opens just before Christmas, I think the big push will happen last days up to opening, and it being family oriented, a lot of families going over the Christmas break. So early numbers may not be reflective on what is pretty much a holiday season movie.
  8. For anyone curious about WSS up north snapshot for Thursday: West Side Story Greater Toronto Area, Ontario Thur Dec 9 taken wed dec 8 22 theatres 52 shows Total sold 507 Total remaining 14048 Total seats 14555 Percentage 3.48
  9. "Youll get it on streaming in 6 months and you're gonna like it!"
  10. And speaking of Matrix numbers.... Matrix Resurrection Greater Toronto Area Dec 22 taken Dec 7 15 theatres 67 shows Total sold 553 Total Available17920 Total Seats 18473 Percentage 2.99 Only 15 of what would normally be 25 theatres I cover having presales at moment. Numbers no doubt will pick up as screens become available.
  11. Yea when I wrote it I was "ehhhh this really isn't the place for it", but I guess I had to get it out. Yea Im not going into anymore woulda shoulda coulda in this thread, that is for the Matrix thread itself. I consider myself lightly chastened lol Any more Matrix stuff will be just be the numbers and related discussion
  12. I know my feeling is TMR movie certainly doesn't seem to be getting a huge buzz about it like Spidey, or even close. If indeed they are planning for it to be a "non event", wonder what made that decision for them. Do you think they might be feeling the "seemed like a good idea at the time" type thing?
  13. Spiderman No Way Home Greater Toronto Area, Ontario Thurs Dec 16 taken Dec 6 25 theatres 197 shows Total Sold 27378 Total Remaining 24538 Total seats 51961 percentage 52.6 Combination of more shows being added and a bit of a fallback on sales brings a bit smaller percentage. Seems like those who bought early want to be day one-ers, while more people, maybe because of Holiday season shopping ect, maybe backing off a bit. Almost has a feeling of "wait the movie will be there after Dec 16 why rush" type of thing. Did note more than usual instances of counts in some shows actually falling back a bit as some people either cancelled or maybe bought another show.
  14. Ill probably start Matrix on Wed for GTA. Give a couple of days for sales to build up.
  15. Spiderman No Way Home Greater Toronto Area, Ontario Dec 16 taken Dec 4 25 theatres 186 shows Total Sold 26401(previous 24959) Total Remaining 22702 Total Seats 49103 percentage 53.7 So percentage dropped almost 10, but then there were a bucketload of shows added so that dropped it down a bit, so that was expected. Will check again on Monday see how sales are.
  16. This pretty much sums up the whole thing in a nutshell lol. Might do a count for GTA today but last I did it we were looking at I think 62 percent sold for Thursday preview. Thats pretty impressive for a movie 2 weeks away.
  17. Thanks. I know I read a couple of articles (okay skimmed lol) where headlines were "parts of Spiderman will be held back during media showing", and misinterpreted that as "critics aren't getting full movie", which I thought was pretty daring. But its more press junket type of thing, so that makes more sense
  18. I find it very interesting that the critics aren't getting the full film-I mean when was the last movie that had that? I would think the critics are probably raising a bit of an eyebrow as to why they don't get full movie (I realize its Disney not wanting any spoilers leaking out, or surprises being revealed). Having said that, gotta wonder do other studios start trying the same thing with their own films? Would be really interesting to see how critics and general public would react to a review based on an incomplete viewing if this sort of thing were to catch on.
  19. Spiderman No Way Home Greater Toronto Area, Ontario Canada Taken Dec 2 for Thurs Dec 16 Total theatres 25 Total shows 154 Total Sold 24959 (Previous take Nov 29 16177) Total Remaining 14935 Total Seats 39894 Percentage 62.5
  20. Cineplex here thankfully does NOT do this with Dbox....it will shows 2 showings, dbox and regular seats. Dbox sells out but you can check the non dbox seats for actual seat counts. That's crummy if it's showing that for you guys and girls
  21. Spiderman No Way Home Greater Toronto area Thursday Dec 16 (taken November 29) 25 theatres 151 shows Total Sold 16177 Total Remaining 21879 Total seats 38056 percentage 42.5 *grim look* I dunno....sales seem kind of weak..... In all seriousness.... Almost 50 percent sold for a Thursday night showing 5 hours after going on sale for a movie not out for over 2 weeks.....this is like Endgame type stuff. I am interested to see when it slows down a bit, but a few theatres already have some near sellouts (and Im talking big auditoriums not vip 100 seat theatres).
  22. Can't even do some seat checks on Cineplex for NWH because I get servers are nutty. Will have to check this evening in the hopes that I can get some numbers. And yea supporting Toronto stuff is that its only deluxe theatres, no reg shows. Reg shows they usually put closer to the date in my experience with Cineplex
  23. Still "Coming Soon" on Cineplex website-because it wouldn't be Cineplex to do stuff that would makes sense. Edit-okay got to wait till 12PM EST okay then. I'll check back later then
  24. Cineplex just has "Coming soon", and typing Spiderman into search bar-nada, so they seem to be playing nice
  25. I was seeing both in Toronto the days leading up. No one was biting on Res Evil, but Gucci was getting some solid consistent day to day sales up here. Now Im casting an eye on the upcoming slate of movies hitting Dec, and my eyes are twitching at how many counts Ill be doing for those films. I might just cry....
