  1. The Batman Toronto Ontario Greater Toronto Area Thurs March 3 Taken March 1 Theatres 13 Shows 147 Total Sold 5766 Total Remaining 31660 Total seats 37426 Percentage 15.4 Okay bit of change in numbers-Today March 1 all Mandates except masks dropped in Ontario, theatre at full capacity now-so sales numbersbefore were taken while theatres were at 50 percent capacity, so a bump up in total seats and obviously seats remaining, but the sales kept up around 15 percent so they kept up with those openings. I will do a count tomorrow for Friday (because thats when Cineplex opens up its Friday seating more). Unfortunately Wed will be only day I can do Friday counts as from Thurs to Mon I will be away from my computer, so I won't have counts on Thurs or Fri for Friday numbers. This will probably also be my final count for Thurs numbers as well. +
  2. The Batman Toronto Ontario Greater Toronto Area Thurs March 3 (taken feb 24 13 Theatres 147 shows Total Sold 4055 Total Remaining 33071 Total Seats 37126 Percentage 10.92 All Mandates except masks end March 1 in Ontario (its rumored Masks will be gone by mid to late march). Toronto adding a lot of seats for Thursday showings with sales going up as well. As I have said before Friday I don't do a count till the Wed Before opening because SO many seats/showings get added on that day.
  3. The Batman Toronto Ontario Greater Toronto Area March 3 taken feb 18 13 Theatres 81 shows Total sold 2886 Total Remaining 15977 Total seats 18863 Percentage 15.3
  4. Uncharted Toronto Ontario Greater Toronto Area Friday Feb 18 taken Feb 17 13 Theatres 109 shows Total sold 1669 Total remaining 26165 total seats 27834 Percentage 6.0
  5. The Batman Toronto Ontario (Greater Ontario Area) Thursday March 3 (taken feb 16) 83 shows 13 Theatres Total Sold 2902 Total Remaining 16206 Total Seats 19108 Percentage 15.19 percent So far only 1 Imax showing at certain theatres on Mar 2 (Seemed to be all sold out), so I just went with Mar 3 showing. Hopefully more seats become avail for Mar 2 so I can get better count.
  6. I will double check that thank you! It would be nice if Bats is up and presales in Ontario. Edit: Okay it IS up! Thank you for that, would have missed it otherwise. Will maybe do a track tomorrow for it.
  7. Up here it will be interesting to see how attendance goes for Batman. It opens on March 1, the day we drop almost all mandates here in Ontario (except masking which for whatever reason will be at a later date). No Vaccination checks, fully capacity theatres, other than masks no limits of any kind. I think that weekend will be a big one in Ontario of the freedom plus Bats movie coming out. Tracking presales when they start (no they haven't started here in Ontario) will be interesting.
  8. Out of the groundhog hole.... Uncharted for Thurs Feb 17 (Taken Feb 14) Toronto Ontario (Greater Toronto Area) 61 shows 13 theatres Total Sold 449 Total remaining Available 13878 Total seats 14236 Percentage 3.15 A smaller amount than I usually track, using Uncharted to get back slowly into the groove of things. Good to be able to do this again, and hopefully after feb 17 for theatres (which are going back to full capacity) no more restrictions on it all. Heck something approaching a normality to life will be great too
  9. Okay I guess I lied about getting to Uncharted numbers on the weekend lol. Will get some today. Capacity Limits being removed Feb 17 for the theatres yay, and it sounds like all restrictions except masks being lifted March 1(yes that includes vacc requirements-which I think is a huge boon to the theatres....and say doesn't some movie open first weekend in March...Bat-person or something.....anyway. Going to get uncharted going for the opening, though numbers will be weird because 50 percent capacity sales till Thursday when 100 percent capacity sales hit-will be kind of weird)
  10. So will probably start some uncharted watching for Toronto come Friday-I believe we are still under 50 percent rule until 21st of Feb for theatres, but its better than nothing.
  11. Ontario theatres will now be allowed to have Snacks and drinks. Originally snacks were not going to be allowed till feb 21(when theatres will be allowed 100 percent capacity) , however they are allowing it starting monday. Reason why I mention this may have a positive effect on attendance going forward for obvious reasons.
  12. Alright the info you've all been waiting for, the info that has threatened the shutdown of this site due to its massive significance.....okay well maybe not..... ANYWAY, End of Jan Theatres in Ontario will open to 50 percent capacity, and then Feb 21, sounds like all indoor capacities will be lifted (Masks and vaccinations will still be required for forseeable future)-so looks like I can take part in Batman fun come March, which will be good. So yea movement Ontario Theatre front anyway.
  13. Well, in Ontario we are getting an announcement this week relating to reducing restrictions (no details that Ive seen yet). Hopefully this means that Ontario theatres are allowed to go back to being open again. Lots of noises of "glimmers of hope" and "peak this and that". So here's hoping I can rejoin everyone again soon, just as I was starting to get the hang of tracking on my PC, this stuff happens. Hoping for the best.
  14. Oh hey, just found this new thread LOL Im guessing my post about Ontario Cineplex closing Jan 5 got ported over? Anyway glad I found the thread!
  15. So I may be late to the party as far as the news-but just read Cineplex is closing Jan 5 in Ontario until further notice. Wow. Any of those who follow Canada know the details? Covid related Im assuming? Any other provinces closing their Cineplex or just Ontario?
  16. The Matrix Resurrections Greater Toronto Area Dec 26 (taken dec 26) 26 theatres 177 shows Total sold 1570 (as of 11 AM) total remaining 42085 total seats 43655 percentage 3.6
  17. As per the responses esp the laughter, yea-for a friday show there's a lot of "0"s in the seat sold dept in those theatres. A number of theatres didn't even have the imax showings, just avx/3d/Regular showings. I mean I get its Christmas eve, but generally alot of people go out Xmas eve as a pre-Christmas tradition type thing, but not in Matrix case it seems in Toronto at least.
  18. Matrix Resurrections Greater Toronto Area Friday Dec 24 taken Dec 23 26 theatres 164 shows Total sold 1071 Total remaining 38137 Total seats 39208 percentage 2.73
  19. Im so sorry things have been busy here the past few days, and I really haven't been able to get numbers for Matrix, ect. Just got too much going on as per usual this time of year Going to try and do Matrix numbers for Friday (whenever Cineplex gets them up there) and just count everything as a wash at this point).
  20. Thats my guess and seems most realistic. Funny as I have numbers for presales before....well this happened. I;ll just keep checking this week.
  21. So can any of my Canadian friends suggest why when I go to Cineplex website its showing no dates for Matrix Resurrections? At least for Toronto, unless it felt victim to the whole reset for the covid. Im guessing it will show up between now and Wed I guess.
  22. Due to life getting in the way, Im not going to be able to do Greater Toronto Area numbers today-sorry bout that I can tell you though just giving a look at the seating, numerous theatres already having multiple sold out shows. With the whole 50 percent rule kicking in tomorrow, Cineplex putting out pretty much any seating they can right now to accommodate those who want to see it before restrictions kick in. Im going to be very interested to see the final numbers for Spidey just overall after the weekend. I know Canada numbers are often seen as a "side" to the US numbers, but its always interesting to see which films in Canada sometimes may do well compared to US counterparts. Spidey though seems to be following its US counterpart pretty consistent. So looks like future counts go back to the percentage system-this will be fun.....sigh
  23. Its so unfortunate-what a roller coaster. From things seeming to get back to some semblance of normality movie going wise, to the deluge and demand of tickets for Spidey and constant adding of seats, to people getting refunds and from Sat onward you gotta rebook with 50 percent capacity in mind. What a whirlwind
  24. Not surprising, but I would have thought it would have started next week.
  25. Spiderman No Way Home Greater Toronto Area, Ontario Dec 16 taken Dec 15 25 Theatres 288 shows Total sold 40382 (dec 13 34657) Total Remaining 34855 (dec 13 39409) Total Seats 75237 Percentage 53.6 I will be doing Friday Numbers tonight.....gotta steel myself up for that smackload of seats.....
