    Have to see if godzilla climbs wom after opening weekend. Shazam had good audience reaction to film. I thought wom would carry but it didnt. Wonder if godzilla has same direction-people like it but doesnt translate to more wom sales. Its sounds like a perfect summer movie. Hope it manages to leg out

    Im relatively new, can only speak for myself, but i find kind of intriguing. I post for two london ontario canada theatres and after a bit watching the number of seats sold over time i find interesting. Plus knowing my small little bit is part of a collective i contribute to. Its an interesting hobby for me and i learn stuff about the business side.

    Has there been anything in marketing thats suggested this will be the final one? I know i read little bits that hanks and co were very emotional about after reading final dialogue. Toy Story seems to have that "evergreen" type of nature where people love the characters and it does well merchandise wise. It wouldnt surprise me if it did 200 million its opening weekend...it has that type of love ( it will be an interesting comparison vs frozen 2 another blockbuster)

    Im interested in seeing how rocketman does. Not expecting same as bohemian, though great if it does. For me its more does it get a bit of resurgence in eltons music like it did for BR and Queen. And if Rocketman blasts off do we see more music biographies down the pipe.

    My bad i didnt clarify, yes it was audiences who didnt like less godzilla in 2014, that was poorly worded on my part. I was just musing about the general reaction ( so far) with current "more monster" film compared to 14s"less monster film". Apologies for confusion.😎

    Godzilla possible 60 to 70 weekend. Just read a review which was said good movie but 2d human character depth. Imo people watching this movie are wanting monsters slugging it out in cities. human interest stories is not the focus imo, so odd thing to critique. Weird how we might see alower opening in part due to 2014 ( which the complaint was far too much human little monster action). It surprises me all the media i see is monsters bashing it out. I would think that wouldsuggest this is very different from 14. I guess its wom that will be the key here.

    Kotm seem seems o slowly be catching steam up here. It may not have sellout previews up here but our main theatre is in a mall and its going to do big walkup i think. A day at the mall followed up by watching massive monsters slug it out on a massive screen. It should well i think

    Looking at big picture of overall ww box office its fascinating. Top 5 now is now 2 billion club. But 1 billion? There are 39 movies that have 1 billion or more. So if you want a top 40 movie now you neex a billion It gives some pause for thought. In a few years that will be top 50 at a billion and who knows maybe a 2 billion top 10....

    Is it weird i thought it was coming out later like august? It surprised me when i saw it out in two weeks. I probably got it confused witb New Mutants and its constant pushing back. Ive seen very little in the way of promo for phoenix, probably part of my confusion. I wonder since jan: Aquaman, captain marvel, shazam, avengers endgame, dark phoenix, spiderman far from home. Im NOT saying fatigue but her overabundance of hero films in short amount of time. Many spent money on aqua, cm, endgame, and prolly far from home will be huge. Maybe part of shazam and whats looking like dark phoenix, maybe theres only so much hero movie money to go around. Just trying to figure why phoenix may have the low numbers here ( i mean just another angle to look at)
