    When i was doing star wars and terminator numbers at same time i was stunned at difference between movie 3 days away vs 2 months away in star wars favor. It was juat incredible to see.

    For those wondering abuot star wars in toronto...nothing on cineplex site yet for ticket sales. For those wondering about terminator really no difference from last post. Apparently reviews out tomorrow(?) so ill post terminator update tomorrow.

Would have thought that thered be a little more interest esp.cameron coming back with arnie and linda. We shall see if it picks up but quiet thus far.

Is that a thing now....where movies are made with stuff like a list in mind and hoping people Use the alist to see their movie as a cheap ticket and get money that way or just wait for netflix licencing? Thats certainly a different interesting way of going for revenue.

    A question about comps. Is it simply a matter of going and seeing how much a previous movie made on that day/same time during its own run? Wheres the beat place to find previous movie info? Or is it just going back through this weekend thread?

    Just chiming in joker in toronto the same. No date from cineplex yet as to ticket sale times. Would a director have a say in presales? If he did i could see him not wanting a "comic book movie hype" and actually wanting it close to opening

    Im curious dumb question how do they track without presales? Is it numbers estimated by studio due to things like film fests? Things like tweets/shares/reactions to trailers?,

    A ways off but Doctor Sleep box office is going to be intriguing, reading reactions to final trailer. Discussion about how it is/isnt like the book, how the movie is/isnt following kubricks shining vs not, people and places that are or not in book/shining novel/kubrick shining. Like there are people who do/dont want to see it for any combination of the above. Really hard to tell how this might do by the sheer varied amount of opinions, and im fascinated
