Going by your logic, many films in the yearly top 10 are domestic flops because they didn't surpass their production budget. Hollywood doesn't make movies just for America. These budgets are high because they hope/know the overseas audience will like their films.
Every summer has flops.It's true that we won't have 70 M and 50 M films every weekend. How about 80 M and 35 M with MU and WWZ? 75 M and 45 M for DM ll and TLR (3-day). I am positive this summer will break records.
Just imagine the weekends to come. Memorial weekend is gonna be insane. June has MOS, MU and WHD and comedies that could breakout. July has DM ll and PR, TLR and TW will surely help. Then August has ELYSIUM and some mid hits.
