Will have to disagree on the arc . Sure that theme is there but don't think the film and characters do enough for most of us to care. Amnesia plotline just completely robes carol of any meaningful moments . Her chemistry with fury is fun, her relationship with Rambeau is fine ,just don't have enough time with them. Seems they were relationships issues with the dad and she faced some issues while being pilot,but we get flashback that don't really dive in much. Third act is just boring. Easiest defeat of the villians I've seen . Captain marvel was just an aggressively OK film . Nothing aggregious and nothing outstanding . Carol Danvers was solid but in the end there really wasn't much to latch unto IMO. She just felt so out of place in EG.

Thinking B+ like TLT.

Poeple complain about critics all the time. Pretty much did it for Indy,flash.etc.... This movie is like fresh with 5.7 avg rating. Which is not far off from QM/ET . Such a discrepancy is bound to attract such conversation.

Critics use to be few. Now we have 500+ critics which have definitely diluted everything. Most of those bloggers are not much different from your casual audience viewer. Don't get me wrong some of the top critics can get way over their assess too but agree writing in general has declined. Most of the reviews now have generic repeated statements that you have had multiple times and they've lost meaning.

Yeah I know that .That's why I think its very vague and lazy metric . So prefer metacritic which does actual grading and has a well set metric that doesn't invite scrutiny. Audience review pane for meta is shit though.

The avg is at 5.7 . For reference quantumania and eternals at 5.5 and 5.6 respectively . Not far off. Then for top critic average 😅 Eternals 5.4 Quantumania 5.4 Marvels 4.8 The other 2 were languishing in rotten while this is well looking fresh 4 now. This is why I don't like aggregator sites . Have very vague and loose rules . On meta 3/5 is mixed and the system treats it at as mixed . No reviewer deciding . If critic wants his review to be positive ,he will give a score within the required threshold.

Sure if you cut it out like that. The statement after I was literally saying in terms of being critical to flaws upon enjoyment of a movie. To clarify it better. Was saying as long as they enjoy the movie, they would be more willing and forgiving towards it's flaws than Men who tend to nitpick or over analyze it even after enjoying it . Once again not saying women don't nitpick or overanalyze but men just tend to do that more often compared to women. Both sides are able to analyze and critique a film . But on the enjoyment factor ,think women would be more willing to look past the flaws of the film and see the merit compared to men . But that's just my opinion Yeah I guess there a lot of variables to consider . So my statement datawise was kind of lacking.

Tbh the only female led superhero movie that I felt was marketed well to women was Wonderwoman. The rest have just been lacking here. BOP, BW, CM were heavily male driven in terms of Audience engagement. DC choosing to adapt BOP rather Gotham city sirens still bugs me to this day. Suicide squad was panned but Harley was one of the best things about it

They were alot of criticisms like that on joker movie. Some weird ones even saying it was " incel fuel" or dangerous for society . The move has it problems but it's nature and heavy subject matter definitely played apart too.

Guess the type of movie should be considered too. Joker subject matter was quite heavy so it turned off some.

B being fresh is fine . But a critic can choose if it's negative or positive. RT as a site just sucks. Metacritic is just miles better. Way too many water cooler blogger critics .

Yeah I know . Was just trying to imagine such a scenario were to happen. But still think this should manage to get a fresh rating .

So 59% with 130 reviews. Been counting from 86 reviews. Of the 44 reviews 31 have been positive (70%) Using antman 3 which had 410. So about 270+ reviews left . If 70% of those are positive . Final RT would be 66-67% . So thing this is settling in 60s.

Women are generally easier to please. If they enjoy it ,will go for it ,that's all . Men generally tend to be more critical. Not saying women are not critical, it's just there are more forgiving of flaws than men who though may enjoy something ,there will always be that aspect of overanalyzing it .

Nah average is still 5.7/10. Basically it's passable. Even the late surge of positive reviews are not really that glowing. "Basically it's fun and enjoyed but plot messy" Think we are seeing lot of positives balancing off the negative ones earlier. Last 12. 7 positive 5 negative. So surge may have reached its peak? . Think it's goona even out and it will balance around mid 60s at best .

Guess this will probably at least live with some dignity being fresh but doesn't really mean much. Both TLT and TDW are still shit. Will see but think the audience gonna hate this.

Just watched reel rejects reaction. Literally said they were given free alcohol LMAO. Disney has treated this movie like garbage . Starting to see more of this . Mixed reactions on post credit scene.

Don't think this is getting a good Audience score with what I'm getting from OS. MCU movies just have the most predictable patterns of any franchise. Thinking B+ . A- didn't do much for BW either .

Positive but you can clearly see asterisks. These are far from glowing reviews . Even though it's surging . Average score has remained consistent . It was hovering at 5.5-5.6 for the most part . That tells all you need to know .

58%. 5.7/10 avg top critic 41% 4.7/10 . Yeah I've posted multiple times but yeah it's definitely having a surge. 18 in last 24 +ve . OS has pretty much sealed it's fate though.
