  1. Raimi ruined the franchise is just ridiculous. He is the only good thing about MOM. That Waldon script was bad. It was after TLT ,that the whole narrative around trajectory of the mCU started to change . Gimmick is also taking it's course. Yeah they can steer the ship back with heavy hitters like F4 and X men. But still multiple storylines bringing heroes together defeat a big bad in the end even with a considerable chunk of good quality will have run it's course by phase 7-9 IMO . The whole gimmick will just not be as exciting to GA. Audiences are starting to slowly move on from CBMs.
  2. Marvels 575M Deadpool 3. 850M Cap 4. 500-700M VENOM 2. 450M JOKER 2. 900-950M Thunderbolts 450-600M Madame web and kraven - who wants to watch this .
  3. You give those poeple too much of your time. Media and internet as a whole give those poeple too much attention. Social media has just become more and more like echo chambers . This poeple have ruined entertainment and film criticism in general . The more media attention gives culture wars . The more discourse and division is caused. They can't be reasoned with and the more you attack ,the more clicks they get. Blocking accounts ,account suspensions and finding ways of more verified rating systems as long as they don't limit free speech is the way to go. Lots of Female led, actors of color , LGBT themed movies are far outweighed by the political discourse sorrounding them than the actual discussion of the content and quality of the films themselves. World is full of toxic poeple and some stuff really needs to be called out but some times you just have to separate yourself from it or you will get frustrated and depressed.
  4. Ok thanks yeah definitely removed the 130m number. But the article is vanity fair not variety . So edit that in your post.
  5. I can agree it's tough to ever know budgets. But also think seeing how a studio reacts to box office run ain't a sufficient gauge either. Studios just hide alot of financial information. Original CM had 152m budget which comes higher adjusted Sequel coming less . Just don't buy that. Started shooting in 2021 and yeah covid was winding down but just about every Disney budget ballooned due to covid related restraint s and this one doesn't.
  6. 4.5/5 . Best episode . Love they get straight to business. No last minute reveal nah thrawn is here and getting straight to business. Enjoyed all the interactions btn baylan and shin And liked the the lore of the dathmari and the planet. Stuff involving Ezra was the mixed for me, felt like " super easy barely an inconvenience" . Yeah thrawn just sitting there longtime just waiting for the one plan to unfold to set his escape feels Abit shaky. The major reason last episode had more buzz and traffic was due to Anakin and clone war references which I just found all by the numbers and very predictable and it's been done before in star wars. Honestly Ashoka stills remains one of the weaknesses of the show. Adore TCW and her character but just don't really care much live action ahsoka in this show. In her briefs moments in mando and BOBF she is definitely better for me. Ahsoka was filoni's creation so can't help but be kind of dissapointed with what I've seen from her so far.
  7. https://www.forbes.com/sites/carolinereid/2023/04/11/disneys-bill-for-the-marvels-came-to-130-million-two-years-ago/?sh=79ea102a491f According to an article published by Forbes . Not saying it's accurate either but once again I think we should wait for other trades esp deadline to weigh in. But still think it's gonna come in higher than 130m. It says that was for just 2 months of shooting.
  8. Will wait for other trades especially deadline. 130m seems too small budget for this.
  9. Yeah then the conversation would be very different. These 3 movies did some Considerable damage .They heavily involved already established popular characters and had some Major hype. CS came in B's for all 3. Eternals was basically new characters so people didn't care after a while and just got swept in NWH mania But marvels simply has to be good . The days of "it's MCU goodwill " boost died in 2022.
  10. . MOM ,Thor 4 had hype and benefited from that and resulting legs were shitty. Money left on the table. Both would have done 1.1b+ and 900m even without china. The back to back negative reception of those two films is where a considerable portion of the audience kind lost faith in the MCU. Guardians 3 one of the most popular was bailed out by WOM . Presales were pretty meh and could have resulted to OW similar to Quantumania if WOM wasn't good. Same for the intentional thread were sales looked bad until WOM spread in over the 5 day weekend. Audience is now definitely more picky now.
  11. First post. Movies after EG more successful % than prior EG. Absolutely no context. Subsequent post. Set an arbitrary mark of 750mWW and some stuff about legacy characters .chose any other number like 500m and your whole factual argumentation goes to shit and then cut out the avengers movies based on this phase not having any yet any?? Latest post. Start of this phase is way better than start of the first batch of 9-10 movies of the infinity saga. Your keep shifting goal posts. Your just arguing for the sake of arguing. Yes . Based on your OP . Which stipulates movies b4 endgame vs after endgame. You can't calculate success percentage on movies that Haven't released yet. That would seize to be factual. Once again I think you don't understand what cherry picking is? Just read through your original post again. Because you have been contradicting it . Once again you claim to be using facts while ignoring others and randomly selecting those that fit your argument. Facts don't always mean "iam right " that's why poeple with different facts can argue. Because facts can be manipulated too or certain facts that are important to be consider can be ignored. My problem is your 750m WW+ arbitrary cherrypick. Change it to any other number and the percentages change in the other sides favour like 500m+ like @Bob Train pointed out. Which makes a pointless point of argumentation. Your ignore the financial short comings of the current phase (bombs and those that scrape past breakeven). Just love how the comparison btn these start of this phase is compared to the start of infinity saga . MCU wasn't popular back then it had to gain it hence increasing returns with time VS phase 4 and 5 which started with MCU at peak popularity and in a space of like 3 years . A marvel movie isn't guareented sure fire hit . Iger himself even admitting they kind of fucked up. Then you get posts like the ones above that have to ignore certain facts just to say MCU is not in a current state of decline.
  12. No it's not . Your original post you say the MCU after endgame is more successful percentagewise than prior endgame. You just cut out the avengers movies for reasons yet they are part of MCU prior endgame . Whether this phases don't have avengers movies is not relevant to the argumentation. Point of argumentation is btn movies prior to EG and after EG that have been actually released. Your ignoring other important stats like the flops and movies that just broke even. That is cherry picking. Your just choosing the stats that only verify your claims instead of getting all the available stats to come to a conclusion.
  13. Your literally cherry picking statistics . You literally substract the avengers films like those didn't involve " legacy characters"... Even by your logic infinity saga still slaps current phase 11 to 5 750m+ W FFH yes it technically after EG but still part of infinity saga.
  14. No. Infinity saga . Only incredible hulk lost money. The rest all profitable. Current phases Black widow . Yeah it has the asterisk of releasing day and date but it still broke even or lost money. Shang chi either broken even made profit depending on whether budget was 150 or 200m . Projected 150-200m budget. Eternals. Lost money Quantumania. Lose money or just breakeven. Yeah covid ,no china blah blah blah. Don't know what parameters your using to determine success percentage but financially ... Infinity saga slaps current phase .
  15. Anakin stuff was pretty much predictable but overall another really good episode. Just like @Menor the Destroyer this didn't hit me as emotionally but really well put together episode and the pacing was perfect , no fat and the acting was solid across the board. Space whales for some reason never bugged me no matter how ridiculous the whole thing is. After a really rough episode 1 ,the show has gained some footing.
  16. Yeah pre covid I would agree . But now the climate has changed for Pixar and Disney overall. Doubt it's even gonna top the original. 700-800m would be good for this.
  17. Wait D23 was this weekend ? Guess no major movie announcements then. Guess strike is really going to mess up release schedules esp for the MCU so studios going to hold out on any big announcements.
  18. Getting out some small negatives . Marrok LMAO. Editing was weird agàin and the pacing was -2x normal speed and kind of ruined some immersion in the light saber battles. Ashoka continues to be the least interesting character into her show but the ending of this episode ,think will get more from her. Jacen didn't need to be in this episode. Felt like Disney kid mandate rearing it's head again. Putting that away really enjoyed this episode. Best episode so far. Sabine continues to be the one of the best characters on the show. Is the dialogue with her the best, not really but the show is doing a decent job developing her In regards especially to her training . Understood her choice at the end but won't lie wish there was more emotional resonance but the scene steal works due to how good baylan is. Balyan is no doubt the most interesting character just wish we had a little more. Very ambiguous ,there is definitely an ulterior motive just hope the rest of the episodes bring it to the forefront to solidify his character. Light saber duels though still with some issues esp ahsoka scenes were the best so far. Liked that the force was used more. Yeah if your going to have jumping into hyperspace affecting other ships. Do it like in this episode were it looked more plausible and maintained stakes unlike another virtually striking scene in another movie I shall not name that comes out of leftfield and completely destroys any stakes . Overall like where we at 4 episodes. First 4 eps were basically set up for the main premise of the show(thrawn) and they could have been 3 tight episodes with better editor. Still better than current batch of live action SW shows. Lots of intriguing threads and Hope this 4 episodes deliver so this stands alongside Mando S1 and Andor and to a smaller extent Mando S2 as good SW shows so far in my book. Ep1 2.5/5 Ep2 3.75/5 Ep3 4/5 Ep4. 4.25/5
  19. Some fair arguments and maybe by the end new republic will handle the issues with Hera. Just because it's called starwars doesn't necessarily mean incompetence for reasons. In the PT and Clone wars . Republic and Jedi are so blind to palpatine's machinations and why do I think it works better ? The separatist and republic war which palpatine uses to his advantage and clone program is initiated which later culminates to order 66 and dissolving of the republic . Sure PT and TCW have some flaws but the the whole theme of the story is that the republic has become inefficient and bogged down in conflict that palpatine uses that to his advantage . Empire as the ruling entity in the OT until Rotj and in andor was fairly efficient. Having the republic incompetent is not the problem it's the reasons why they are. Don't feel the story is giving us enough story on why the new republic is so inefficient like we got for the PT. ST had the same issues . In mando S3 it was at it's worst for the current shows. The scene where they refused to extend even the smallest help in the pirate invasion in episode 5 was infuriating tbh. Episode 3 at least tries and honestly could have been a good pilot to another show or the canned rangers show. Who knows maybe they will explore it in the future or it was meant for the canned rangers of the new republic show? More telling than showing kind of storytelling basically which just cripples the stories.
  20. Don't see Dom going low as 250m unless it's mid . Like 275m+. Something like 280/420 is my worst case scenario for now. 650m wouldn't be bad either. Think TS5 is also going to drop off to like 750m or even less.
  21. 600m OS is ridiculous for this in post covid climate and where is Pixar is right now. Should be slightly under or just around 500 like the original. Personally thinking 325m+ Dom 800m+ WW. Would be satisfied with 700m+ for this. .
