Holy shit I know top critics can be harsher and there can be a difference from all critics to just top critics but mid 30´s for top critics when it´s at 67% is something I have never seen before

It's at 69% now from what I can tell, wild that there's such a notable gap but I'm positive the All Audience score will catch up with Top Critics in no time. Nowhere near 36%, sure, but it feels like rotten will 100% happen.

No way. QM started well worse right off the bat. This feels more like it's treading the line of mediocrity for most people and just fluctuating between 5 and 6.

It did? Was Quantumania immediately rotten? I already forget. It definitely looks like it could fare worse with Top Critics on RT/MC. Already at 38% and 51, respectively

people getting tired of jokey comic book movies and want more mature stuff?

Classic role reversal now that DC has finally started making Marvel movies in tone lmao, I'm expecting big things from The Flash and I expect Blue Beetle to get Shazam-level reviews but I have no hope for this or Aquaman before Gunn's reset

Rewatched the original and it still held up like gangbusters. The emphasis on small scale practical setpieces really was refreshing.

Genuinely so confused as to WBs handling of this especially when reactions are positive?

The first one is one of my favorite DCEU movies. Let's not put the cart before the horse with positive reactions. Almost everyone who actually spoke about the film (and it was a small sample) were bloggers. It felt tempered to me, similar to Ant-Man though not that bad.

    I watched it last night.

The first Scream is my favorite horror movie. My favorite genre is horror and the premise of the Screan franchise is irresistible to me.

Scream 6 with the new cast is better than 5 for sure. Many more twists that you don't see coming in contrast to 5, great kills and great pacing.

    Scream Franchise Ranking:

    1 > 6 > 2 > 5 > 4 > 3

Elite ranking, my friend! I'm torn between whether I like 2 or 6 better, but the fact that it's this close 27 years into a franchise is amazing.

  6. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention my overall thoughts, but some gripes aside, I thought this rocked. Best since Scream 2, lots of heart between our Core Four, some really solid comedic moments, white-knuckle tension, and best collection of set pieces in franchise history. It helps compensate for the overall pretty lackluster killer(s) reveal and motive -- not that it was bad, but it felt a bit recycled.

Fun when you’re watching it but damn is in it really  stupid when you think just a. Little about it. And a total waste of the NYC setting

My biggest issue was related to certain characters' injuries not being life threatening. Thought it made pretty great use of NYC

  8. I just rewatched all of the Scream movies in the past week, and my ranking (ahead of seeing VI tonight) is for sure 1 > 2 > 5 > 4 > 3. I used to love 4, and I still like it, but this recent viewing solidified that the 3rd act carries the movie for me. The first two acts are completely unremarkable, and the new cast is stronger in 5. It's also the ugliest movie in the franchise by a landslide, so that doesn't help.

Decent for Scream but nothing  more. Arguably should have surpassed Halloween Kills’ opening weekend

Halloween Kills followed a movie that made $76m OW DOM, even though it sucked, the hype alone would be enough to propel it to a higher OW than the follow-up to a $30m OW grosser.

Sorry to be that guy, but inflation plays a big part in this. Still impressive though, but the movie is just not good. I am surprised by the RT score.

That RT score seems to indicate that many people think it's solid, and while we don't have CS yet, audience scores on RT are pretty terrific for a slasher. I'm curious what reception is like once more people have seen it.

EDIT: Just refreshed RT, and yeah, it's at 94% Verified and All audience with 500+ and 1000+ ratings, respectively.
