94% verified RT with 100+ ratings, 95% among all audiences with 250+. Could this actually get an A- CS?!

I was also mixed on 5. I think this has much higher highs (I liked the opening) but overall feels rushed and messy. The least funniest which is strange because the humor works a lot here. It is also recognizing franchise tropes without any satirical aspirations-- almost as an admission of guilt and laziness. Not sure what it's trying to do/say other than point out the excessive nature of rebooted sequels, which it occasionally manages to pull off with some nifty setpieces (though, I thought the trailer spoiled too much)
I never saw the second trailer 😎😎😎 I think I'm set!

Meh
I was at the fan event in the worst post converted 3D of all-time (we are truly once again in a post avatar world). Showed only 2 Paramount trailers, the Demi Lovato video and some dumb video messages and bits from the cast
1 > 2 > 5 > 6 > 4 > 3 ???
You and I have the exact same ranking of the first 5 films, so I'm curious to see where I land after I see VI tomorrow.
Also, early verified audience score is 97% with <50 and all audiences 95% with 100+

Scream 2 is the 2nd-best entry in my book, so if VI comes anywhere near that, I'll be ecstatic

I saw it. I think overall it will have good word of mouth. As a fan of the franchise I ejoyed it, but this is probably my ranking...
Scream (1996)
Scream 2
Scream 4
Scream (2022)
Scream VI
Scream 3
For a movie that relies so heavily on FIVE previous instalments in terms of plot, it's arguably more accessible to GAs than its predecessor. I think because its far less meta and *wink, wink*. Think this will exceed BO expectations.
I'm scared that the killer reveal + motive could be worse than 3. By far the most divisive element seems to be the 3rd act.
-
Down to 64 MC with 36 reviews. Scream VI will probably end up right around Scream (2022) on MC and a bit under on RT. Good enough for sure, and WoM could potentially be better if the movie is that action-packed and genuinely frightening during some of its set pieces.

I loved it, one of my favourite Scream movies, so glad I didn’t know what the opening was going in as it was very surprising. I did figure out the killers identity though. One thing I was happy about was a saw some spoilers months ago and thankfully none of them where real.
Glad you loved it and that you hold it in high regard among the other sequels! I'm checking it out Friday night, can't wait.

I don't track stuff anymore since I moved to New York in the fall. But I took a look at the Thursday 3pm DOLBY for Shazam at the Lincoln Square (biggest AMC) and it's anemic.
I'm still thinking Shazam's domestic OW starts with a "2" in front. Just a feeling.

Sentiment on twitter seems to be mixed, particularly in regard to the third act, so I'm definitely expecting a finish in the low-to-mid 70s on RT.

82% with 70 reviews
Holding extremelly well, maybe it can ended bigger than 5 afterall
I will say that I'm seeing a few mixed or negative reviews that still need to be added to RT, but this is a really pleasant surprise so far. Hoping it hovers around 75% when all is said and done, and that MC score is super solid right now.
EDIT: And now I'm seeing 79% with 73 reviews. These things change quickly lol

We're gonna need some of the major outlets to chime in soon lol
Major outlets rarely weigh in on social media reactions. We're probably waiting until the reviews themselves to know how this movie actually fares with critics.
-
80% across both All Critics and Top Critics with 44 reviews. 7.1/10 Avg from all critics and 7.2/10 from Top Critics. There are a few mixed/negative reviews that still need to be loaded in (The Daily Beast, Roger Moore from Movie Nation, and Mashable strongly disliked or hated it), while The Playlist's perfect "A" score needs to be added, as well as a few other scattered positives.

My enjoyment of movies is inversely proportional to this dude's, so maybe this means I'll love Scream VI lol

It certainly seems like they're only letting bloggers and the like give out early impressions. I'm getting some Wonder Woman 1984 vibes here, and if that's the case then this'll go down in history as one of the biggest wastes of a comic book tentpole ever.
To be fair, these days, with almost any big movie, professional film critics for major outlets rarely weigh in ahead of the actual review embargo. But I agree with you, it would've been nice to see a handful of them set the tone for what more established critics might think.
-
Ayo, AV Club already broke embargo (the review seems to be very positive), but it's a SPOILER review. Please be careful on the internet this morning!!!

Shazam's third act was already generic cg superhero slop though.
I really can't agree with that. It's still character and theme-forward and about 10x smaller in scale than any other CBM 3rd act.

This Quantumania stuff is hilarious, a 69.9% drop for weekend 2 and a 59.9% drop for weekend 3 lol

That's awful. Actuals could maybe, MAYBE get it under a 60% drop, but that's a super weak hold no matter what. What are we looking at for DOM total, maybe $205-207m?

Huh?
I think @kayumanggi is implying that Shazam 2 is less likely than ever to breakout with Scream VI's great reactions and extremely promising presales sucking up all the oxygen.

How tf did M3gan hit 30m OW, in hindsight? Movie isn't even that good imo. Brilliant marketing campaign
