  1. Now it makes sense. Though the problem with Zaslav getting the boot (even IF that's a possibility) is twofold: A. Who would replace him? B. What guarantee is there that his replacement would be any better?
  2. That moment when the campy film has a more realistic version of Jonathan Kent dying than the gritty realistic version...
  3. And unfortunately for Gillman, families already have other options to tide them over until August. So little chance of it having legs.
  4. Probably the best scenario Pixar could have hoped for. The movie clearly had staying power and is resonating with audiences. It shows that the Pixar brand still has pull with families. Feels like a movie that will perform extremely well on Disney+ and have a good shelf life on home video. But more importantly, I feel that the goodwill from Elemental bodes well for Elio and Inside Out 2.
  5. Probably because it has more of that traditional Pixar heart than Lightyear while still being colorful and fun enough for kids.
  6. Migration will at least have holiday legs. Though this will be an interesting test to see how an original Illumination film does in a post covid world.
  7. - Little to marketing - Trailers looked uninteresting - Families had more appealing options (Elemental, Spider-Verse, etc)
  8. Animation nerds went to see it opening weekend, while families are still flocking to Elemental and Across the Spider-Verse.
  9. Sad for the people behind Ruby Gillman. Universal showed practically zero faith in it and are putting out digitally on July 18.
  10. Hopefully the budget on this more reasonable than No Hard Feelings.
